Hey Doc Of course its helpful! I always like reading feedback ;) I understand See, I don't usually make the audios in a linear way. So I had some parts made before others and when i was trying to stitch it together i started coming down with man pneumonia haha I wanted to rework it and actually add another scene...a kinda love making relaxing scene to balance it out.... But i also wanted to get an audio out I will go back and smooth out the edges ;) The best thing about the audios is they are open for edit forever! So I may add in the sense and clean the audio transitions up a little! Thank ya for your words! happy Monday xd

This is going to be long, potentially confusing, and probably boring and/or useless, so I’ll start off with the most important stuff! ☝️🤓 ▪️First, here is a pre-emptive "I’m sorry!" kitten conveying my sincere apologies if this wall of text makes your eyes bleed! 😵: <img height="180" src="http://i.qkme.me/3uq74l.jpg"> ▪️Next are some of my thoughts on the audio! 🧐: I thought that this was a really fun audio, but the transition between the "we should unpack first" scene and the start of the ice cream scene (at 4:46) felt a bit abrupt to me. In the former, it’s suggested that the listener knows how to get creative with ice cream. But then the next that we hear of it is in the latter with <i>"Yeah? I like that idea...Okay, but go easy on me. I’ll scream over that ice cream, baby."</i> I guess from a transition perspective, the introduction of the ice cream felt a tad out of the blue. In retrospect I can mentally fill in the gap that the listener’s character has gone out and bought the ice cream, but there’s not much narration leading into that (e.g., <i>"There you are, baby! What flavour of ice cream did you get?...Did you bring up some bowls with you with you?...Wait, what do you mean we won’t need them?"</i> or something to that effect). Shortly after that, one can infer that the listener’s character is eating ice cream off of Gael at 5:36, but I was confused for over a minute about which body part she chose (I initially thought it was the D, but at 6:36 it turned out to be his chest instead 😝). That may have been an artistic decision on your part - perhaps you were inviting the listener to use their imagination - which would be entirely fair. But given that this scene had already started off a bit vague, I suppose I found myself feeling even more lost about what was actually happening 🤔 I tried to think of what I might’ve done differently if I’d had to write the script for this audio myself. I probably would’ve spun it as more of a tease first (e.g., the listener’s character gives Gael a spoonful of ice cream first, then licks a bit off of his lips, then his chest, and then basically works her way down from there 😯). But perhaps that might’ve interfered with pacing of the audio, or maybe been an unnecessary plot point 🧐 Another factor that seemed to make the transition between the two scenes feel a bit off for me was the slight change in the sound of your voice at 4:57. I know that it’s difficult to record long stretches of an audio in a single take, and it’s probably just as tricky to get the volume or tone of your voice to sound completely identical between two or more separate takes. In fact, deliberately changing the sound of your voice between takes (whether it’s by adjusting your proximity to the microphone, recording in a different room, or whatever technique you actually use) is an extremely handy tool when it comes to signifying a change in scenes. (One example where I thought this worked particularly well was at 7:03 in Breaking News, when the characters went from starting to get freaky presumably by the front door of the house to getting freaky in the bedroom). When stitching together two separate takes results in a minor, unintentional change in how your voice sounds in the audio, 99.5% of the time I think it’s just a minute detail that doesn’t detract from the audio in any way. But at 4:57 in Quiet Weekend, the fact that that change happened so soon after the transition into the ice cream scene just threw me off a bit. Like in Breaking News, it made me wonder if perhaps there’d been a sudden change in setting, or like a scene within a scene (sub-scene?), if that makes sense. But as far as I could tell from the dialogue in the audio, there wasn’t any change in setting - the characters simply went from "Yay, we’re done unpacking!" mode to Gael becomes a human ice cream cone. (Or at least that’s how I perceived it. I fully acknowledge that my crappy headphones plus metal concert-induced hearing damage might’ve caused me to grab the wrong end of the stick 🤭) ▪️And now for the really boring part! 😵: I suppose something I’ve often wondered is, is feedback like this actually useful for you? Some of the feedback I’ve gotten about my own comments is that I have a tendency to overthink the audio (which, to be fair, I’m pretty sure I do), that I need to use my imagination more, that I should just take what I like from an audio and leave the rest, or that maybe I shouldn’t have listened to the audio at all. I think all of these are legit viewpoints, and I’ve found myself second-guessing a fair bit of what I write (i.e., <i>"Is what I’m saying actually constructive, or is it a result of me being too serious/sensitive/tightly wound?"</i>). What I’ve usually done in these situations is to just err on the side of caution and scrap my comment altogether - I don’t want to clog up the comments section or waste anyone’s time if my massive wall of text is the sort of thing I should be keeping to myself 😯 In most situations when I’m offering someone feedback, whether it’s to family, friends, or co-workers, it typically involves a two-sided conversation. If a person says that they have a specific goal in mind (e.g., what’s the particular area that they want to improve on?), I think it makes it a bit easier to narrow down my thoughts rather than dole out generalized and maybe not-so-helpful word vomit. With that said, I don’t know if you have any specific aims associated with certain audios, like if you want to further refine your sound layering skills, or acting, or pacing of the story, etc. You’re certainly not obligated to tell us that, and I worry that it would be too intrusive for me to ask. Hell, I’m probably already straying outside of my lane by commenting on things like scene transitions and sounds because I don’t know jack about making audios 😕 So I guess if there are particular things you’re looking for (like banter and ideas for audios, rather than my nitpicky, boner-obliterating essays 😝), then please let me know. Or else just look at the kitten pic and scroll down to the next comment 👇😛
