Translating Your Slang Ramble (Part 1)

Here we go lads!

I had SO much fun doing this!  I'm after stealing a few of these I think!

I skipped the guessin and did it more like a shout out after seeing how many responses we got!  I didn't wanna keep ye here for three hours listening to me try to guess through all the languages!  πŸ˜†

Part 2 will be up soon covering my Sugar Angels as well as people here I may have missed.

Make a note for me on the thread if I missed yours!

I hope y'all enjoy!

Translating Your Slang Ramble (Part 1)

Comments

I forgot about the S.L.U.T. We also have the Metro D-Line. It's fun to see tourists reaction when they ask what bus to take and you tell them to go to Pike and get on the D.

I heard mine!!! Your β€œNah” was priceless!! πŸ€£πŸ–€πŸ€˜

KimS

Like lee lan?

Belloya

❀ I am going to pronounce my name like that from now on. Thanks G

Belloya

Dead πŸ’€ lol

I hadn't had time to finish listening to this. It was so much fun! I laughed all my way home from work 😊 It was so cute listening to Gael say "puta" hehehe Love it πŸ’“

No!! You ended the ramble right before mine!!

I had to come back just to hear him say "periodt" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚thanks, to whoever had that one

This was too funny loved it πŸ˜‚

Okay, didn't expect to hear my comment being read first. And Gael....one of the main reasons I didn't want to try you, is because you never get my name right! It's not "Lil-i-an", it's LILAN. *fits of laughter* How can I trust you with Norwegian slang when you can't even get my name right? :P

Lilan625

There is nothing better in this world than Gael's laughter and voice! I'm happy he got mine right! Bless his heart!πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸ’•

What a lovely way to spend an hour, of course all your Rambles are 5Star! This was great fun, thanks!

It's so much fun listen to you ramble and giggle, and struggle πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ I didn't expect that you'd struggle so much with the Austrian, I would have picked something else and maybe easier to pronounce πŸ˜‚ the original Viennese slang/accent isn't really around that much anymore, but some of it is really colourful and funny

*squeals* 😍😍😍 This is finally out! I have been waiting for your ramble since you first posted the thread. Something about listening to you talk just calms me down and cheers me up as well. Your voice just puts a smile on my face even if you are just reading / talking about random stuff. Thank you for learning all our slangs! I hope it has been a fun time for you 😁😁😁 Love and kisses from πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ύ

The warning cracked me up so much 🀣🀣🀣

THIS WAS PURE BRILLIANCE. 🀩 Firstly - I cannot believe that Gael has never heard the word PASH! (I’m pretty sure it came from the word passionate - not just an ordinary kiss, give us a pash, maaaate!) Secondly - Gael you’d better be careful that your stubble doesn’t give anyone pash rash πŸ˜‚ Thirdly - oh em gee, Gael likes Kath and Kim?!! HAHA! Gael, you great hunk of spunk! I’m dead now πŸ’€πŸ˜†πŸ₯°

Loved it. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thank you for that. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Yeah... When he translates slang from around the world and you still get off from his voice πŸ˜’πŸ˜’

Nikki-Nik

Loved it! Such diverse expressions, in such a lovely voice.

The Loonie for the Canadian $1 coin with the loon on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other, had me falling over. Was thinking back to when the $2 coin went into circulation in Canada, with the polar bear on one side. "Bear back", though funny, sounded like 'bare back'. With Queen Elizabeth II on the other side of the coin, we just couldn't call it that. So we settled on 'Toonie', because it starts with 'two' for 2 dollars and rhymes with the Loonie.

So I finally had time to listen to your ramble and I just read your comment about what you said about the slang for Mickey In Ireland and had no idea it meant a penis, thanks for telling me that ahead of time if I do decide to travel up to Ireland one day πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

loved hearing all the different slang, thought about something else after I submitted, but wasn't sure, and you don't have to include on the new, but my momma had a saying: I would hope to poop in your scooter, basically her version, of damn right, I once asked her what it even meant, she didn't know, lol anyway, this was a lot of fun to listen to.

I'm not from New England! I'm from 'Old' England πŸ˜† North West England. Apologies for the confusion. I suppose you'll have to get the boat across the Irish sea to come punish me for the confusion πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

So educational πŸ˜…This really brightened up my day! Your laugh is so contagious.

This felt very interactive, especially if we followed the thread and tried to read along with you. Listening to you off the cuff and easy going is a lot of fun. Your natural laughter is contagious. Sorry about the double double being in your thread double, didn't notice it was already suggested by another lovely. πŸ˜† - Great spitballing! Literally chewing up a bit of paper and spitting the wet wad across a room through a straw. The boy hit his buddy on the back of his head with a spitball across the classroom when the teacher was busy writing on the chalkboard. Meaning is to brainstorm, throwing out ideas for discussion.

Orale, huevo = oh-rrrah-LAY WAY-voh!

LISTEN!! I wheezed so hard πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ Don’t talk to me unless yur sayin’ huevo like ✨🍳AHOOVO 🍳✨

I never thawt I’d one day hear him say puta 🀣

Don't feel bad, everyone mispronounces geoduck. It is pronounced "gooey - duck", but people say geo as in geography and duck. I'll always remember your response to the penis clam as "oh mother of divine inspiration". To be honest, I have never eaten one. Maybe if they cut it up in a soup and don't tell me, I would try it. Great job with the audio, G. <3

That was fun and yet I regret my choice. So dumb, I wish I would have picked something else πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ The curse of being β€œfrom” too many different places I guess πŸ˜” But you did great, I luv all your rambles πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

🀣 That was hilarious and educational! β™₯️β™₯️β™₯️ Thanks for trying your best with the Finnish!

Getting to hear you speak like a Philadelphian was sooo worth it! Check that link to see what water ice actually is.

I almost choked on my drink when I heard G say "puta!!!" I wasn't expecting that! lmao! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ (thank you for this Chellibeans, I dont know you but I love you already!) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ btw, G, your pronunciation of the word "quilombo" was perfect! (with an unintentional Argentinian accent and all! haha) you sounded like a local! I'm impressed πŸ˜‚πŸ‘Œ

This was a fantastic gift to wake up to! Glad you got a laugh from my Aussie slang πŸ˜€

I laughed so hard when I heard you attempt to say β€œya bronet khmara” 🀣🀣🀣 I snort laughed so hard πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚same

Jen Ohh

Ok, 6 minutes in and you mention Pop and Lush! I thinking THAT EXACT thing cause I live in the northern part of the Midwest, and I always called it Soda! But I’ve used both Pop and Soda, so I never thought it mattered that much to me. But I’ve had friends in college get into some hilarious arguments over either Soda or Pop! Wish I knew the Lush term back then!

Ashlee Kranz

This was fun to listen to! I read along so I could see how you butchered some stuff, heh. You totally butchered the Low German, but it was still hilarious :D It could've been Isenbohnpohlupndohldreie. That's the person who puts the barrier in front of train tracks up and down. (Isenbohn=Train, pohl=Pole,up n dohl=up'n'down, dreie=Dreher="Turner" (like the person who cranks a handle)) Now I wonder if you can say Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch...

jazz

You did good boi! (As much as I hate that misspelling I can’t stopπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚). I am whey impressed you got thru all these! I mean obviously you’re capable but a whole hour of ramble is so boss! ✊ much enjoyment and giggles for my Slutterday morningπŸ™‡β€β™€οΈπŸ™†β€β™€οΈπŸ™‡β€β™€οΈ

Riding home after early morning work call in, like having the most fun friend in the car with me.πŸ˜πŸ˜†πŸ˜

So much fun! Thanks for taking the time to go through all of the comments haha. You're such a champ! Had a TON of giggles while listening. πŸ˜‚

Apologies for a 2nd comment, but I need to add that this ramble was a wonderful idea of yours. I think we lovelies also learned some beautiful and interesting words/slangs from each other. Pls do more in near future. The positive vibe and your laugh and all the comments everything was hilarious β™₯️ πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ @Cherry where you @? Did he say Hugo? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I mean bye bye huevo πŸ‘‹ ☠️

This was super cute and fun, Gaelie πŸ’— 😊😊😊

It is sad that we can't give him some audio so he get the right pronunciation. This is so funny. Maby Sean give his try as well

I loved everything about thisπŸ˜‚

Kaila Farrell

He butchered my sentence complitly. But in a weird good way it is a nice refreshment that he tried. ^^ I am pumped to see part 2

Ok don’t use my slang if you see Germans or Austrians in Ireland.....you didn’t even get to the right translation. β€œDu gehst mir auf den Keks” doesn’t mean you are walking on my cookies/biscuits. It means you’re getting on my nerves. πŸ˜‚ Hopefully you enjoyed the whole slang thread! Happy weekend and much fun!β™₯️

Teeheehee... same πŸ˜†

Omg, I loved the way you said sisu!! 😍😍😁😁 My finnish nature said hooray!! πŸ’ž

Multilanguage Gael is in da house woot woot πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

That was brilliantly done πŸ‘πŸ‘ Thank you 😊

You've butchered my word quite a bit but you got the expression and passion in saying it just right πŸ˜‚ Your laugh is soooo infectious πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

You did very well with Curved, G!πŸ˜‚πŸ€“πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ I had to Google fobbing someone off.πŸ˜… So I learned even more slang from ye today, lol!πŸ˜‚πŸ€“πŸ˜™β€

How is it possible that I can actually HEAR the smile in your voice eveb when you're not laughing? πŸ˜‚

Grace

🀣🀣🀣 your pronunciation of huevo has me in stitches. Bless your heart. 😘

I think my fave so far is the Southern phrase "busier than a one legged woman in a butt kicking contest" 🀣🀣🀣

Well done!! πŸ‘πŸ‘ Your laugh is just so infectious!! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Rachael

Hearing you so excited and happy just makes my heart dance! πŸ’žπŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ€— Can't wait to hear the sugar angels slangs! *gives a naughty smile* 😏😏😈😘😘

G, Lang means "only" in Tagalog πŸ˜‚ but I'll think of it as langer from now on and laugh my ass off

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

G’s laugh makes me so happy πŸ₯Ί

Anura β˜†

πŸ€— Ah, you’re so precious, I already love this

Oof I feel childish for being overly excited to hear him say my name πŸ™ƒ

Alright, here we GOOOOO! πŸ˜€

Iam listening to this right now, I have alittle time before I have to leave my house 😊

Omggg this is so exciting πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
