Monday Mindful

I’m grateful for a roof over my head, food on the table, my dad letting me live at home until I get back on my feet again, and I’m grateful for my foofy calico kitty Putties. She sleeps with me almost every single night, give me licks, nudges and paws at me when she wants attention, and she always know when something’s not right. She’s 16 years old, has a hard time getting around, but she’s my baby girl and I love her to the moon and back again! I’m grateful for her curling up right next to me in bed.

#1 I am grateful for waking up this morning. I am grateful for every single medical care worker, first responder, essential worker, teacher, parent, student, and person that is helping our world rise up as we get through this mess. I am grateful for my loving & supportive parents, my nieces/goddaughters,, my brothers and friends old and new. Grateful for having food on my plate, clothes on my back and a roof over my head. Grateful for the good morals and values instilled in me by my parents. You. Our health. Good music (esp 80/90's rock 💘). The clean water flowing out of my taps. The internet/the ability to indulge in new interests and learn new things so easily. Chocolate, wine & this bubble bath I'm about to take 😍

Today, I’m grateful for Spring! I’m happy to see life returning to nature and all the birds and animals seem so happy! It puts a spring in my step, as it were 😂😘

Im grateful for my new job as it fulfills my need to pay my bills and also to help in an immediate way for those that need it. - weirdly for the way communications gave adjusted. Bcs of my anxiety id much rather txt n email until i can handle the prospective facetimes and voice calls. I feel less weird for it now. - again weirdly, the alone time. Transitioning to working from home has relaxed me in such a way where the worklife stresses are minimal and so its allowed me to reframe my thoughts and lifestyle. Im doing a lot of self acceptance work that i used to " never have time for" it's also helped ease thru the liminal phase after a breakup from a toxic relationship. B4 lockdown i was gearing up to get back out there, the self examination made lockdown a godsend. I wasnt ready but now, i will be as i feel more confident in who i am and who i am becoming, to be alright thru the forest of no. - the opportunity to observe people leaning into their most creative selves. - Gs cornball jokes he's somehow able to drop in any audio he drops...im nearly pavlovd for them now lol also the Seanie audios..theyve grown on me lol - still being able to laugh hard thru things - and having the time to workout. Ive been chipping away at some body goals n lockdown was the powerup i didnt know i needed. Lookin like a snack now, n still goin.

Anyway. ::-::---}-> this is a 3rd, point, and I moved it, I just remembered, I mentioned it once, I was perhaps more me that what I'm seen as, and no, I don t expect it read or then remembered, so I'll just say, thank you for a certain entity, that literally, put a tree in my path causing me to find a choice then these coincidences that seem to reinforce it. Whatever you believe, anyone reading, somethings you can't deny. [You get this basically shorted, unedited, and I'm tired.] 1. My brain/Seat of my Soul/Id, ego and super-ego - not the body, and to quote "I feel this body dying all around me", it[the body] is an arsehole born wrong [many times said I came out of the factory wrong, I'm, in-car terms a lemon] and NO, I don't need nor want sweet and caring lovelies coming to my rescue, I appreciate the gesture but I'm fine, I came to terms with it. Back up.. little further.. *shifty eyes* ok, yeah my brain causes me the most trouble, I think knowing me, even remotely, is hard I don't recommend my head as a holiday location. Having a rando (random) convo (conversation) with, yes, a rando (see aforementioned), I find it fun (but ultimately fleeting), [redacted a wordy paragraph] I... am not medicated... and not by me or my Doctors choosing [what would have become redacted] anyway, in the end, my brain while keeps me isolated for varied reasons, its also been my only friend, the darkness as well, and it's one of my submissions, I'll share it after the 27th. Don't want things I'm summiting for judgment to be seen on social before I'm judged. Which brings me to the second. 2. The Void, the source of all my hopes dreams failures and success, all (think contained multiverse n time theories) possibilities play out within her, she's blind, has no body. So until I've done more work, I cant share more than I did on twitter, on... Cherry's post... I said I felt like I cheated because I had worked on that concept before.

First of all I'm grateful for all the essential workers as well the doctors and nurse that are risking their lives so that they may save people. Where I live I'm also grateful to have running water, electricity, my family is safe in these times. Grateful that my mom taught me to be prepare in these situations such as making bread, budgeting for emergencies, having extra water for when the power goes out, full tank of gas just in case. Grateful to have a wonderful boss as well supervisor that has looked out for his employees. My aunt and her kids who have help us get supplies when they were out at the store. Lastly glad to have been an Introvert/antisocial person after an incident has made the quarantine like any other day.

I'm grateful for the fact that my family is staying well and playing it safe. Some of my relatives have a tendency to ignore safety warnings, but everyone is observing social distancing, washing hands, wearing masks, and staying home as much as they can. I'm also grateful for my employer, who took steps very early in March to make sure that as many of their hourly workers as possible would continue receiving full salaries and insurance during the shutdown. I'm further grateful for my wonderful readers, who have helped keep my side hustle strong and continued to support my new projects. And I'm VERY grateful for amazing people like you Gael - keeping us sane and comforted with your incredible talent during These Trying Times. 💖

I read recently that when you practice gratefulness regularly, It can improve your quality of life. I’m grateful for my husband, who lets me be free to do my own thing but is strict when it counts. He took a stand after I had a meltdown last month after visiting the supermarket and almost fell back into an old nasty habit. He’s been doing all the groceries. I have lovely friends and family. We have a nice house and a garden. Our neighbourhood is a little village inside the city, and people still say hello to each other. Enough food, both health and snack. You and the lovelies. I’m autistic af but no one cares about that and I’m always treated with kindness and respect 💕 Oh and also Blindboy. I love him and his Podcasts. They have been just as invaluable to me as your audios these past few weeks. Okay its super passed my bedtime but I just had to finish this post. Love you all 💋

One of the many things I love about you, G, is that though you are as sweet as a human could possibly be, you are also very real and never saccharine. So we'll say what we're grateful for, but not without the good scream first! I'm grateful for my work and the chance to keep doing it, my parents and best friend staying well, my body which can still power through when I ask it to. I'm grateful for my home which is my sanctuary. What is uppermost in my heart right now, though, is this strange, mindblowing, unfathomable opening out of my soul that has come with being here. I care and feel cared for. I can have your voice and your wonderful heart when I want and need it, right there with me. I'm in a group (a group!) where wonderful people seem happy that I am there and would even look for me if I disappeared. I keep examining it because I can't believe it and each time I strike it it rings, pure and true. I am changed. I don't know what the end of it will be or even if there is one, but I'm looking forward to it in a way I have not for many years.

I am grateful that I have my health. I am grateful to have a home that I love. I am most grateful to have 2 precious little girls who bless me with their hugs, laughter and love daily. Who are filled with compassion, awareness and wisdom beyond their years.

I'm grateful for life. Grateful that I'm still breathing. Grateful that my church is meeting in person after so many months. Grateful for the opportunity to change jobs in the middle of this. Grateful that I've a job that gets me out of the house on a daily basis. As annoying as it can be, grateful to work in an "essential" industry, first shipping/mail center/print shop, then insurance. Grateful for phenomenal bosses. Grateful for Zoom, and the opportunities to see my friends through it. Grateful to still be living at home with parents who love me. Grateful to be single, especially during this crazy time. Grateful for medication that keeps me sane. Grateful for a working laptop. Grateful for warm weather. Grateful for a car that gets me where I need to be. Grateful for you, Gael, and everything you do for us. I don't think I could survive this craziness without your calming personality and positivity. In the last couple of rough weeks I have gone back to making a weekly gratitude list (how timely!) and it has been amazing how grounding and positive it has been. So in no particular order, here are a few gratitudes from me: Music, my students, being a mom to 2 wacky and wonderful teenage boys, Mother's Day visit with my mom in our cars at the Sonic Drive-In for dinner, 2 hr surprise phone chat with a student who is an ER doc that I hadn't talked to in 8 weeks because of quarantine, Zoom game time with family and friends, the sound of my boys humming from various rooms in the house, family movie nights with brownies, a safe home with loving neighbors, did I mention music, SGN every week with John Krasinki, laughing every single day (even after sobbing uncontrollably on the toilet), the opportunity to get to know so many brave and wondeful Lovelies here and on Twitter, and of course Gael and all that he is and does. Love you all, my friends! You are brave and bold and worth all good things!!

Grateful for my family, I'm starting my bartender job again this Friday, I'm still studying what I love, I've actually been a bit successful in my freelancing, that I'm pretty good at entertaining myself and taking care of myself even after a very sad break-up this year (it still aches, we had six years together. But I mean, who hasn't ached), the people that reached out to me after said break-up, good food, that I can learn the languages I want just because of the internet (not kidding I picked up Irish again because of you. I struggle so hard with VSO languages but I will do it anyway), that huge tree outside my window, all the oddities I have in my room (like an impression of my teeth, a vintage fez, bones I've found etc.), I'm healthy and I tend to keep it like that, I live in a super safe and egalitarian country, and I can make mango smoothies now!

I am super grateful that my nephew survived his first open heart surgery and that the hospital has relaxed their Covid rules by allowing both parents to visit with him. He will inevitably need a heart transplant in his future but at least now he has the opportunity to grow up and bless the world with his greatness.

I still have a job. My family is healthy. I am grateful for this community I am grateful for you caring for us and helping provide comforting and spicy distractions to all the madness I am grateful for the sisters I found, the love we have for each other to lift each other up when we fall. I'm grateful for the laughter, craic and banter we get into, even when it reaches levels of insanity and breaks twitter.

Hearing you talking about how kindly a woman should be treated brought tears to my eyes. Well like I posted on the bird site, I’m grateful for my happy place in Mich., even if I don’t get to go there this summer. My cousin and son’s godmother sent a belated bday gift that included a necklace stamped with my initials and a picture of the peninsula. I am grateful for her and my memories from there and I’m grateful I never give up on my dreams. It’s also a nice reminder that things will get better eventually, maybe not on my timeline, but soon, when everyone is safe. Maybe i can take this as an opportunity to save money to build my dream writing retreat up there on Lake Superior. 🌲🌊⚓️🛶🍺🐻

I am grateful for my weekly Italian lessons with my cousin in Italy, chocolate and quite honestly your audios. They are a source of sugar, spice and everything in between, and always there when I need them. ❤️

I'm grateful that I'm able to work from home and haven't been laid off or furloughed.

I'm grateful to have a good sense of humor and good people who surround myself. I didn't always have both so I appreciate it all the more hearing someone laugh at my dumbass jokes rather than call me annoying or just generally insult me. I’m grateful for the positive boyfriend experience videos I’ve been listening to lately and the responses from the artists themselves. I’m isolating alone and having a small conversation with someone about their content, or what it made me feel, or what it reminded me of makes me feel seen. I know these audios are just scripted and fantasy, but hearing, “You matter, you’re beautiful, you’re sexy, you deserve better, I want to take care of you the way you take care of me, I love your extra fluff, etc.” really helps me fight off the ugly thoughts that hound me in isolation.

That there is so much good happening, &amp; that we are trying to help each other in our own ways, even if it's spreading joy through memes, audios, songs &amp; messages. While I am a very physical person &amp; it's difficult not to be able to hug those I love, to still be able to talk regularly to them is a blessing.
