Dad's Care Update
Added 2018-12-11 19:22:55 +0000 UTCMy dad is in recovery and he still needs round the clock care. Some days are better than others, but we're still trying to figure out what our options are, if he can stay in his home and afford assistance or if we need to go with alternate options -- because we have to come home and get back to work. He has fallen about 5 additional times since he's been home, mostly at night. There's still tons of financial issues to figure out -- his wife (not my mom) was admitted for dementia while he was in recovery, so things were very chaotic when I got here (rooms full of unopened mail was just a start). I'm having to deal with two people's care -- though his wife's care is all about trying to FIND her information for the care facility she's been admitted to, without having any ability to ask her because she has lost verbal communication. There are tons of appointments to get to, therapy to do, doctors to talk to, Social Security workers to deal with, all while trying to find an alternative option to me and Crow as care givers. It's definitely looking like we may be here for the month of December while we figure things out. But we are making progress.
Thank you everyone for your patience and support. This whole experience has been extremely overwhelming, but it's been a relief to see how understanding you all have been.
