2022-05-05 21:16:21 +0000 UTCThe NBA should add a new award.. “Most Valuable stretch of games.” U can have maybe an 8-game minimum where you evaluate the stats, impact, and competition over a said period. This will allow some of the exciting players who don’t have great records to get some shine, and it’s a much more fair debate. In regards to the MVP race... I know that it makes for TV segments; but it’s theyre not good debates to me. it’s annoying to hear guys like Kendrick Perkins claim Ja should be MVP; only to have to renege bc they fall off the cliff or get hurt. I had a friend who was 10 toes down on Derozan getting MVP... which was hilarious bc he is also a Jordan hater, yet Derozans stat line looks a lot like Jordan’s career. But we all know he wouldn’t win it, bc there’s really only 2-3 guys every season who have a legitimate shot to win the MVP. But the thing about it is, most of them are foreign players who are hard to market. Giannis, Embid, and Jokic.

The only thing I’d give Luka the edge over Bird in is being a floor general.. and like u said ball-handling. The main comp. that I think Shannon makes without realizing is the confidence. Both Bird and Luka have extremely high confidence. He really needs an unselfish big man tho.. like he needs his own version of what AD was to Bron.
