I've done a thing. It's a car, and it's terrible.

No one asked for it, so here it is – broken, moldy, just awful condition W12 Bentley Flying Turd!

We are in the big leagues now! The proper "04 Rich car". The fastest 4-door in the world back in 2004. Starting price when new jaw-dropping $275k (adjusted for inflation), and I bought it now for, drum rolls, $12.5k (10.9k €)! The cheapest Bentley Continental by a long shot in Europe, the next cheapest one is 20k +.

I wasn't planning or looking for one, but I wanted to have, let's call it a Christmas special this year. After the breeze that was a Mercedes, a challenge was needed, and I think we got one. I really love the color combo, and the spec, it's proprely loaded. I'll leave the juicy bits for the video, but let's just say it has a lot of issues. Like, a lot. And 260k km / 161k miles.

This could quite possibly be worse than the Maserati, but hey, at least it's a VW underneath, and that means German engineering. That makes me feel a bit better. Just a bit, though, parts prices are Bentley prices.

Depending on how the videos perform, that will determine how deep we go with fixing it. I'm not pulling another Mazzezati, I can tell you that much.
That said, I do hope this project gets some traction as it's an interesting engine and car, and I look forward to working on it. I want to see what this thing feels like at high speed on the Autobahn, and taste the comfort level.

This series will drop in December! In the meantime, the work doesn't stop. Shelves and racks finally arrived, and at the moment, I'm cleaning up the mess around the shop, and organizing all parts and tools so I can work efficiently, knowing where what is.
The stupid lights are finally on their way, and I need to dedicate a couple of days to hook them up once they arrive.
The engine building room is still under construction. Once that is finished, we can crack on with project Skovde engine.

The next video I'm working on will be on my OG E39 M5. I turned into a dream spec E39 M5 with a new custom interior, some other bits, and then I let Gyeon and Yves go crazy with the paint.
I was planning on project Suonenjoki, Alpina B10 V8S to be next, but I hit a small obstacle in the form of rust. I removed the complete rear end with the fuel tank. I need to clean the chassis and then patch up one or more rust spots and treat surface rust. Then I can start with the assembly.

Project Rottweil, supercharged E39 530i is officially sold. It makes me very sad, and I can't believe it's come to that, but such is life. Needs must.

In other news, the E55 AMG won't be sticking around for too long. It's ridiculously comfortable to drive, a rocket when you put your foot down, it's easy to drive daily, but I passionately hate that transmission. It just takes all the fun away for me.
That's not the biggest reason for selling it, though; fuel consumption is. I knew it'd be bad, but it's E60 M5 bad. With my normal driving, I'm averaging around 20 L/100 km / 11-12 mpg with the Merc, and I'd rather daily a manual V10 at that rate. My daily commute is 50 to 100 km, sometimes more, and that's simply too much to keep up with fuel costs.
I need to do a couple more things on it, and then I'll list it for sale.

Oh, and I may or may not have already procured a new, cheap, and neglected daily. It's a 6-cylinder and has a manual transmission! But, more on that some other time. :D

December should be a fun month. Stay frosty!

Oh no

Sreten might be slowly turning into Jeremy Clarkson (I've done a thing). And that's a cool thing! In fact JC should be a guest on an epsiode.
