Early Bird: Any Other Name, Ch. 01
Added 2020-06-01 03:57:05 +0000 UTC[pov: girl, femdom, no sex]
In which a lovely but shy botanist encounters a strangely alluring noblewoman who claims to be flower shopping. She quickly loses control of the conversation, and things begin to get a little... embarrassing for her.
Alternate Title, suggested by editor: "The Bottom-nist"
This was a lovely little long-overdue commission about a seductive rose dryad (they're included in a few flashfics from the first Compilation!). It actually turned into a two-parter! I really enjoyed playing with a purely hypnosis-based encounter with restrained physicality. I hope you enjoy it just as much!
The second chapter is being edited now and will be posted shortly—and after that, I have a story about a would-be hypnotist cad encountering a mysterious angelic traveler, and after that, I'm hoping to start catching up on Bonus Pairings and Bad Ends at long, long last! It feels good to be getting out of the woods.
Other News: Also, Patreon wanted me to let you all know that a few countries and states have changed their sales tax laws, so some of you might be about to start paying sales taxes on your pledges. Being from a magical sales tax-free land, I don't really know how that stuff works, but reach out to me if the new cost is prohibitive and I'll see what I can do, if that becomes an issue.
Also Other News: I hope you all are staying safe and healthy right now, and being careful of believing everything cable news says now more than ever. I don't want to turn this Patreon into a soapbox, but I do feel the need to say firmly that America's system of policing is deeply and fundamentally broken when the majority of police for a community come from outside that community and will arrest thousands of protesters rather than arrest four members of a blue-clad lynch mob. Whatever excesses a few individuals in these protests might drive to (or be driven to), the thrust of these protests and riots is for justice. Martin Luther King told us, "Riots are the voice of the unheard." It is well past time people started listening.
Please be safe and well. Give yourself time to cope. We're going to be okay as long as we keep supporting one another.
Oh, and do please keep wearing masks. COVID isn't f*cking around! Be safe and keep your neighbors safe!

The first big problem with that is that the cops being from outside the community is a feature, not a bug. It's supposedly to prevent "corruption" (a cop not wanting to arrest his criminal mom or whatever), but I suspect it's closer linked to how cops back in the day refused to suppress the union strikes launched by their neighbors. It's easier to dehumanize and abuse a population you don't live among! It's not really an individual problem, is the thing. Good apples, bad apples—the problem is the tree itself, not the fruits. There are actually a ton of POC cops; I think they actually make up a majority in the NYPD, which happens to be one of the police forces most infamous for racism and corruption. It's not about the individual cops, but the way the job itself is designed to encourage racism, violence and corruption on behalf of racist, violent, corrupt laws. The best example I can give you is the War on Drugs, which actual Nixon advisors have admitted was primarily designed to go after black people and hippies. The cops might mean well, but if they're tasked with enforcing those bad laws, it doesn't matter.

It was neat to read. :) Thanks for sharing as always! I also enjoyed the headpats part. That was cute. Also, an angel story, whatever could that be? ;)
