New Year's Resolutions

Hello, my lovelies! It's been quite a year, hasn't it?

In 2019, I started phone banking for the US Democratic primary, left Tumblr for good, got super sick for basiucally all of June, took on a new job outside of writing, received more commissions than ever, moved homes twice, and failed NaNoWriMo for the first time in eleven years.

That said, we also began the Morning Sprints and brought back the flashfics, brought on a regular editor to help speed along production, started the Dungeons and Dazes games, and released the first Flashfic Compilation!

2019 saw 29 full chapters, 18 flashfics and 12 Bad Ends written, edited and released. Combined with what I wrote for November and the Bimbo Ballet Bad End and chapter of Intrepid Pawns both currently being edited, we wrote over 250,000 words of smutty content this year—not including the non-flashfic Goblin Vault extras! That's basically five whole books! I know I could have done better in a lot of ways, but I'm really proud of what we achieved together.

This is the part where I act all cocky because "new year, new me".

At the start of 2019, I opened with a grand calendar and projections for what I planned to achieve. I'm gonna be a bit humbler this time around and recognize that sometimes, life happens, and I can't prepare for everything.

The goal was 55 chapters, and we got a little over half of that. The goal was a flashfic every week, and, um, haha, no. I am quite proud that we managed to stay on-track with Bad Ends, mind you! One per month! Woo! But overall, I was, yeah, kinda cocky.

That being said, let's make some more resolutions, shall we? Like the protagonists of these stories, I never seem to learn. :P

My Goals for 2020

This year, I want to finish Lounging in Ecstasy, finish Intrepid Pawns, start the Alrek/Larya and the Mad Succubus book, and get the other flashfic compilation completed.

Overall, I feel that we have a pretty good system going right now—I just need to find ways to adjust it for the new job. Basically, my main remaining workdays are Wednesdays, weekends, holidays and maaaaybe some scant morning minutes on the other weekdays. That means I only have about half the week I used to, and it's split up to make it hard to form good habits around working.

My big goal, outside of summertime, is gonna be to write 6,000 words every weekend—basically, a chapter. Wednesdays will be open for editing, Patreon management, D&Dazes and so on, but with the exception of scheduled games, weekends are for writing (and sprinting!). Overall, my goal is gonna be to start releasing 3 chapters per month, 2-3 flashfics per month, and 1 Bad End per month.

When we hit summer, my goals will expand, and I will be aiming much higher for those three months—I'll be aiming for the traditional 4-5 chapters per month and a flashfic per week. Plus Bad Ends!

There will probably be lull months and quiet stretches. I'll likely want to take a month or two off here and there to recover and allow new ideas to flow freely. I really appreciate you being willing to put up with me through those little bumps—all I can do is promise that I always have something coming through the pipeline.

Thank you for a wonderful, breathtaking year of generosity and support. You've made this year genuinely lovely for me, and I really hope I've, in some small way, done something similar for you.

And as always, if there's anything you'd like to see more of (or, well, less of), never hesitate to let me know! Have an enchanting New Year! <3
