Hi there! I understand your point. While the Scale 75 Artist range might look like heavy body acrylics, they’re actually not that different from other Scale 75 ranges, particularly the Fantasy line. The main difference is that the Artist range has a finer density, but with just a bit of water, they behave like any other bottle acrylic paint. So, in general use, there’s not much difference when compared to other acrylics. But yes, they are not heavy in a way to leave a trace of paint, they are very fine. That said, every medium has its own nuances, and it takes time to get used to them. We sometimes try to provide tips and guidance in the video, but the best results come from hands-on practice. Every time we try some new paints, it takes time to adjust, but the process remains the same—using water to thin the paint. How much water you add depends on how thin you want your paint, and this can vary between different paints or even colors within the same brand. For wet blending you need enough water to keep your paint wet long enough to move it with your brush as much as needed. Another key factor is how you use your brush. The way you apply the diluted paint or mixture plays a crucial role in the final result. Our main advice is always: practice, practice, and more practice. The more you paint, the easier it becomes. Different mediums and brands are there to expand your possibilities, but 90% of the result is in your hands! 😊

I'm failry new to miniature painting, but I've been practicing. This style of painting, using thick body paints looks like a LOT of fun, but it also looks like it would dry very gloopily and clog up the detailes. I'm sure it doesn't for you, but I have problems with regular miniature paints that, even tough I pay attention to not touching paint while it's drying and thinning my paints, it still gets textury and cloggy. I would love to paint using paints like these but I just can't fathom how it works. Is there a trick to wet blending with paints this thick to avoid creating an uneven texture on the mini that builds up with each layer? I can see that you are thinning your paints, but it still looks a lot thinker then my mixes, that still give me trouble :P
