2021-02-20 12:54:18 +0000 UTCLove the pod. A few thoughts on the book stuff: GRRM isn’t slowed by the show unfortunately. It’s actually the opposite, the show was putting pressure on him to finish, but his books have so many more threads (many of which didn’t even appear in the show) that he’s being crushed under the weight of his own creation. The ending of the show was based off of what GRRM told the show runners. Problem is, GRRM could only give them an outline, and that’s what the last season feels like: a very expensive outline without the development to make it satisfying. And for JKR, she always planned for Hermione to end up with Ron (the 19yrs later scene at the end of the books was one of the first things she wrote according to her), but she recently came back and said she wished she hadn’t had Ron and Hermione end up together. She’s being doing a lot of “well actually” stuff with her world over the past decade though.
