Pennywise is not IT. Pennywise is one of the many disguises of IT, albeit the most recognizable version. From what I have heard there will be multiple seasons, each one going further back. S2 should be in 1935 and S3 will be in 1908.

2025-11-08 17:11:47 +0000 UTCSecond hand, it’s my understanding that the real story of the show is about the Town of Derry, not Pennywise directly. I’m a bit irritated as I’d hoped it would delve into the origins of It, how old It was, and how it arrived in Derry. I know the “official” story from the novel but I never watched the newest movies so I dunno if or how much was changed. Crazy they killed all but 2, and more likely 1 of the kids. But also odd I don’t think that horror-baby ate any of them, since that’s Pennywise’s motif and I figured the freak was a manifestation of It.
