I plan on checking out Korra after I finish Vox Machina tonight

Thanks for the review so far. Hope you make a short vlog about Book 4 when you're done. Be forwarned, there's a clip show episode due to budget cuts, it's worth watching once (the last part is the closest Korra gets to Ember Island players). I agree with most of your points here, still sad they fridged P'Li to make Zaheer fly. But Book 3 has the best fights of the whole franchise, the idea of having an "evil team avatar" was fantastic and it could just not happen before Book 3. Book 4 was tougher to watch the first time around because Korra is at her peak in Book 3, but her book 4 journey is the most relatable. Overall, the animation in Korra and the music really leveled up compared to AtLA (not that AtLA had bad animation or music, and no music in Korra tops Last Agni Kai), but due to the structure being 4 separate villains, we had quite a different ride. Lots to love, lots to be critical about.

Fuck Mako, Bolin is Bae. Asami is a Kween. And Lin is a fuckin G. I think the thing I like most about LOK is that you get to see characters of all ages in this world, and everyone is a little more well rounded than in ATLAB. Other than the increase in budget to produce better animation (and some sick ass fight scenes) the characters are my favorite part of Korra. I liked ATLAB but watching it as an adult (missed it as a kid, it was a little after my time) kind of sucked because you would get some really cool insightful shit, and then someone would fall over/sneeze loudly/run into wall etc. and you would realize "oh yeah this is a kids show" lol. Glad you are enjoying Korra =)

It was really interesting, especially the part about him becoming chill with the spirits and how they eventually accepted a human, but then his homies had to take his message, warp it, and be dickheads to the spirits and he’s like OH NO THIS ISNT WHAT I MEANT. I truly felt for him in that moment.

Korra did have some slick animated action. The train fight was really impressive for a western cartoon. 💯 If you can’t figure out VPN then hopefully the copy I sent works 🤞
