The mask thing is interesting, the confluence of events, the buffalo hunters, the reflexes of the brother dodging attacks. If I was the predator I might have spared the brother for such a feet perhaps. What is the belief system of the predators?

I keep thinking about the hatchet rope trick. She adapts something just in time for the encounter. She is obviously supper human to be able to pull this off so well. How did she get this way? Also the confidence/ playfulness of the predator is interesting.

Prey was a fantastic watch, I truly hope they continue with this style for the series going forward, so many interesting ways to do a Predator in different time periods. Itโ€™s one of the things some of the early Predator comics did super well.

Hey, Danika! I'm stunned you are so blase about this film! This should have gotten a theatrical release! Easily, the best Predator film since Arnie's! The hide illustrations at the end indicate more ships are on their way so expect a sequel. There's a pretty good Predator fan film on YouTube set in the Middle Ages with knights called "Predator: Dark Ages" starring Steapa (Adrian Bouchet) from "The Last Kingdom"! The flintlock is the same one the Predators give to Danny Glover's Harrington in 1997, 278 years later! You met the actual Raphael Adolini! Therefore, the Predators will obtain this weapon as a trophy or gift at some point from Naru or whoever obtains the weapon from her. While the film certainly would satisfy woke-tivists, it doesn't come across as woke screed. Naru comes off as a tomboy chasing competitively after an older brother against her mother's wishes who would rather see her as a healer. When baiting the mountain lion, you can see that she actually wounds the cat as they both fall from the branch. It's why it didn't kill her when she was unconscious because it ran off to lick its wounds. This enables Taabe to stalk and kill it more easily. He confesses all this to her when they're staked out like bait. The targeting system is demonstrated being used with and without the mask which is what Naru observes and learns from. The three bolts are guided by the laser sights when the mask is on but the Predator can manually target by line of sight for a certain range before the guidance system kicks in when the mask is off. He fires maskless at Taabe circling him with the horse. When the bolt misses the manual target, it homes in on the laser sight target for convenient collection later. When the Predator's retractable claws were embedded in the tree at the climax and she thrust his spear at him for a killing blow but it collapsed, I initially thought it was some biometric fail-safe built into the weapon to prevent it being used on himself. However, when Taabe removed it from the tree it was lodged in at the battle site and hurled it through the Predator at the French camp when he charged in on horseback, it skewered the target without collapsing. Therefore, I suppose Naru accidentally touched the switch that collapsed the telescoping spear. Just bad luck. If you consider the "AvP" films canon, then you have to infer that the Yautja are already far more technologically advanced than the hunter in this movie since they've been ritualistically hunting the xenomorphs from "Alien" on Earth since prehistory. When they're focused on the xenomorph as a target, they bring out their modern gear. When they hunt the indigenous prey of a pre-industrial society, they equip themselves with a more antique arsenal in order for the experience to be more sporting. Since the Industrial Revolution doesn't begin until 1750, Earth would be considered a pre-industrial civilization in 1719. Otherwise, it would be a piece of cake using lasers instead of projectile weapons. Just my interpretation of continuity. The line "If it bleeds, we can kill it." is a direct reference to Schwarzenegger's famous line from the first film. The CGI didn't bother me at all because the story was so engaging. Animals are notoriously difficult to work with and they weren't the focus of the film. Their purpose on screen was to be eviscerated! The differing look of this Yautja did bother me. I prefer the classic proportions. What was this? A different ethnotype? A sub-species? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. My only complaint. I recommend being clean and sober if your intent is to critique other films or TV shows. Your insights are often profound and it'd be a shame to waste them. Party afterwards. I would love you to review Brit Marling's "The OA", Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" on Netflix and Genndy Tartakovsky's "Primal"!

Are the movie reviews retro? Like a review of Blade Runner? Or 2049

Yeah I really hope they do a Samurai vs Predator. This series would be way more interesting than Alien vs Predator ever was. Sadly I donโ€™t think productions want to deal with animals anymore and end up with an irl Gordy situation. ๐Ÿ˜œ Someone pops a balloon and the bears and wolves start tearing off faces. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Haha YES. 90m movies are BAE

Thanks for the review. Now, it's a wish, not a request, but I'd love your review of the wigs for House of the Dragon. You don't need to watch the whole show, not even pay full attention to the first episode, just fast forward through the parts, take some notes on the wigs and tell us whether they rented used Witcher wigs, bought them at the dollar store, or bought them at a garage sale. That is all.

Agreed on everything! Also my favorite part of the movie the was THE LENGTH! A cool 90 minutes with a clear beginning/middle/end structure.

The livestream was charming, but you hit a lot of the best parts in this vlog.
