Two reasons. The first one is for copyright reasons. Companies tend to care less if your reactions are about 10 monutes long. The more important one is storage though. Vimeo costs quite a bit to host videos, so by editing these down to 10 minutes I'm able to make more videos. With that being said, if I can earn enough money through patreon I plan to post full length timer-based reactions as well for people who want the full thing.

2019-02-20 23:33:13 +0000 UTCJust like you, this episode was the first one that made me go like "wow, so this is a glimpse of HxH's action? I dig it" lol. The animation gets gradually better and more polished which is rare when it comes to long running anime. Well, HxH was made by Madhouse so that isn't really surprising. This episode's animation was actually average, even below average, when compared to episodes in later arcs :) One thing I like about this episode is that it shows us how Gon sets small goals (making Netero use his right hand) instead of getting frustrated of not being able to get the ball from Netero, which was kind of an unrealistic task in the first place. It's a good mentality to have and that's probably what Netero liked the most about Gon, as well as his creativity and out-of-the-box thinking when faced with challenges that are seemingly impossible. In hindsight, Gon passed Netero's test thanks to his mentality, even if he didn't get the ball (just like with Hisoka's game of examiner during the first phase when he told Gon that "he passed", even if Gon couldn't do any damage to Hisoka).
