You won't find many one dimensional characters in HxH. What makes the troupe so great to me is that they do act as a family, they do care, fight among themselves, laugh, and are terrifying monsters at the same time. The point you bring up about the Kurta is interesting too because the scarlet eyes are valuable but Chrollo himself asked Uvo when they were talking about a possible traitor if he thought any of them actually cared about money (yet they do still things). I feel like all these contradictions make them incredibly interesting and compelling. I am glad you immediately picked up on it and pointed it out bc the fact that they are people who care about each other makes this messy and complicated 👀
