2019-04-28 23:38:33 +0000 UTCWhen Silva said that Chrollo could steal their abilities he meant just that, steal, meaning that the original Nen user completely loses that ability (unless Chrollo decides to give it back). Chrollo's ability is a bit OP but there are some conditions in order to steal an ability: 1) he needs to see the ability being used 2) he has to ask the victim about the ability and be answered 3) he must make the victim touch the hand print on the cover of the book 4) all of that has to happen within an hour Zeno was right to assume that Chrollo wouldn't have been able to steal their abilities. And when it comes to using the abilities: 1) he must hold his book open with the page where the ability is sealed 2) if he closes the book the abilities also disappears/stops (There are some new ones in the manga as well as new conditions but I won't spoil you).

This episode Zeno says it as they are going up the stairs. Side note: More awesome characterization for Chrollo getting trickled out here. The second he sees Silva he goes full death stare O_O. Not only does he remember that he killed one of his members, but he still pretty much pissed about it. Chrollo's ability makes him incredibly dangerous too. Information on your opponent is such an important thing in a nen fights but what happens when you have no earthly clue what the fuck is in that book
