It's another callback to how aura amount is not the only important thing. Skill level and control of the aura are much more important. Flow and the disguising of your intent are all high level stuff that Gon struggled with. We saw this in his battle with the bomber and Knuckle. It's also perfectly timed as an explanation because this compression of time thing is very relevant to this arc in many moments.

After all, the Zoldycks are clearly Chinese-inspired lol. Zeno looks like a jiangshi (Chinese zombie/vampire). Guanyin is a goddess of mercy popular in East Asian mythology/religion.
