2019-06-28 12:59:02 +0000 UTCI don't know if there was any ulterior motive to showing Kite to Gon and Killua besides trying to give them closure. I think monitoring their mental states was to see if they could handle seeing Kite in that state without breaking emotionally which is really nice of Knov/Morel to do. Anyways the stage is set and it only gets more interesting and complicated from here.

2019-06-28 12:54:03 +0000 UTCIf you go back and look at the episode with Pitou sitting down with kites head, all of the surrounding area is destroyed. Trees are all over the place and the ground is demolished. That kind of implies the battle between Kite and Pitou wasn't one sided. It was also morning by the time it cut back to Pitou, so a good bit of time passed. It's hard to say how the fight went, but I think it's safe to say Kite was able to fight back.
