You can’t spike/block at the net(“upfront”) when you are in the back row, thus the maximum number of players jumping for a block would be 3. When your team scores a point “off” the opposing team’s serve, the rotation moves clockwise by 1 spot, and it becomes your team’s turn to serve. The person in the “back right” position would serve for your team. If your team continues scoring points while you are serving, your team does not rotate, and therefore, the same dude will continue serving. This is called a “serve streak” (This is shown in the 3-on-3 match, where Kageyama expects to “rack up some points” when it’s his turn to serve, but is surprised by daichi’s receiving skills.) Eg.. in the shot of Takeda-Sensei looking at the whiteboard: Assuming it’s karasuno’s turn to serve, tanaka would serve (back-right). If karasuno scores that point, he would serve again (neither karasuno nor seijoh would “rotate”). Next serve, seijoh receives, and turnip-boi scores a spike. Seijoh would rotate, and they would serve. (**karasuno wouldn’t rotate yet**). Whenever it is that karasuno wins the next point, karasuno would rotate, and it would be KAGEYAMA’s turn to serve, since he would move into the “back right”. Sorry for the HUGE wall of text, but it’s much easier to see it in the manga since the mangaka would have a little diagram showing the arrangement of the 12 people on the court before every important point, but it’s hard for the anime to incorporate that, so it gets glossed over a bit.
