Ive always loved the narrator, this arc would have been pretty much impossible without the narrator, or/ & way too fast and crazy and basically nonsensical. It also helps us understand the character's thoughts and motivations better, sometimes/ lots of times, these thoughts and motivations and feelings are things the characters dont even understand themselves, due to emotions and the hecticiness of it all snd stuff, it might cause stuff to be a little slow, but I actually like it, and think its needed. Like Ep. 113 with Killua and Ikalgo, it helped us better understand the characters motivations and thoughts, and I liked how it was mostly the narrator talking there, since even Killua didnt know what was going on or why he was doing the stuff he was doing, and some hints of narration in Ep. 116 helped us better understand Pitou's thoughts, there is even important narration this episode when it comes to characters. And there continues to be important narration for characters in the coming episodes, like for Killua and stuff, that I actually like more than the characters just thinking it, since it would actually make no sense for them to do so, since I a lot of the times even the characters themselves dont understand whats going on, or their own feelings.
Basically, my point is, I love the narrator, I think its stupid that people complain about him, he does his job well, and he is incredibly important for this arc, without him this arc would be a completely nonsensical mess, with characters just running around doing stuff for reasons u dont know since the narrator wasnt there to comment, it would be pretty much unwatchable, this arc might be doable without the narrator, but thats a pretty big stretch and I dont think it would be nearly as good. Also, the slowed time is another important thing, you know the invasion being only minutes, then more minutes etc., because it allows us to see everything thats going on, and gives the proper amount attention to everyone and everything going on at usually the same time or close to the same time, sometimes only minutes apart, again without the slowed time, the invasion would be way less episodes, and we would basically have no idea what was going on with characters and why their doing stuff or wont be able to see or/ understand all the battles and strategies going on well, since everything would be happening too quickly. So, I think the slowness of this arc and invasion is important and I like it, though it can defin. be a little too slow paced at parts this arc, I for the most part really like it, and think its important and really works for this arc, with the invasion being apart of this arc.
Sorry for my long response to u, but Im just so happy to see other people sticking up for the narrator, he is very much needed, esp. for thematic and cohesion purposes. Plus the Narrator's voice is awesome, and u get really used to him, he almost becomes a character himself, while The Narrator's voice is awesome and suiting in sub, I can see why more people may complain about the Dub's Narrator, since while the Dub's isnt awful , it just isnt as suiting and doesnt do its job nearly as well as the sub.

Now that we're here, I can share this! There's a really neat video that shows those first minutes of the invasion in real time, from all perspectives. When you see how hectic it is, you really learn to appreciate the time it took to cover it all, along with the narrator's importance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTvK1REi8t4
