That last quote about enjoying the little detours to the fullest bc that's where you'll find the things more important than what you want is such a meta statement about how togashi writes. This whole series is one big detour after another one while gon tries to search for Gin. Togashi's writing style is to enjoy the journey more than the destination.

Just don't bother watching the Greed Island bit cuz that was when they switch to a different studio and it was a disaster.
