Guard Outpost - 40x40

Hope you are all having a good week so far....

This is river number 2 (of 6) I am having fun with these travelers locations, so I hope you guys can put them to good use... This one is a Guard outpost at a river crossing... with paths through the forest surrounding the outpost.. which does not mean you can't move through the tree-fern undergrowth if you want to.

The walled outpost has 2 watch towers (one outside the walls), a mess hall, officers quarters (&/or visitors room), barracks, a 5-cell lockup to keep those bandits in, a stable and a small walled field. The watchtowers are about the same height as the roof-peaks on the other buildings.. and they might have rooms underneath for an armory and a road check point office.

I imaging this as being a fairly remote &/or quiet outpost half way to anywhere... there is only a small patrol here, perhaps with others rotating through, and the barracks is never full. They welcome visitors on official journeys, or parties who look like they might be able to help the patrols with larger issues that occasionally crop up in the area. It is a fairly pleasant place to live and work, however, at night, sometimes there is a heavy fog that rises up out of the river and flows into the surrounding forests... then, only the brave stray outside the walls, and only the watch-post on the tower inside the walls is covered....

Next map will probably be either another river crossing map, perhaps with a trappers hut in a clearing nearby, or another Trinpari location, possibly a little market around the fountain courtyard on the hill near the cemetery...

I am still deciding - feel free to try and persuade me one way or the other ;-)
