Hey QT!

Hello hello – yes super late, but I did it! I actually stuck with my self-set-schedule and I am super happy! Maybe this seems a bit forced to you, but I am greatful what social media had done to me and my art, considering scheduling. It’s so much easier to just skip days or even weeks if it’s “just for you”. But when there are people patiently waiting for your work, you’re somewhat held accountable and I love that, even if it stresses me out sometimes haha!

So, there are a few things I want to say about this!

I feel like these NSFW pieces are super experimental atm and I hope that you're ok with that. What I mean by that is, expression, perspective, color and – this time nipples phhhh.

First off: As you can see the sketch was quite different than the final product. I really wanted to change his expression a bit, because I feel like I always do his cocky smile – not that I absolutely love it, but I feel like a one-trick-pony sometimes… But it turned out that it simply didn’t fit Dabi or the situation, so I went back to my old habits…

Next: Yes, I know, I never draw nipples… it started because most anime boys simply don’t have them. People say it’s an animation issue, but Dabi has none in manga either, so I never bothered drawing them… But, because I feel like my art becomes more and more detailed, they’re somewhat ...missing? Again, I tried before drawing them but 1) they make me uncomfortable, don’t ask why, I don’t know either and 2) because of Dabi's scars they are sort of distracting? I mean… it’s a dilemma… Kinda like the huge pubic area that’s just “empty” – his chest is super flat too… I solved the problem with the lower half by adding some veins… you know, something to look at… and I thought that nipples would do the same to his pecs, but no, I think they look out of place? That’s the reason I made them barely noticeable. Maybe we will work up the opacity step by step? Please tell me what you think about this whole topic!

Another thing : Perspective.
That’s one of my strong skills I find, but I feel bad that I’ve done yet again another extreme perspective on my NSFW work. Maybe a bit to loosen up to the whole dick situation, because it’s rather in “the background”. But, you aren’t subscribed to the Tier to see a big head. I’ll try to switch things around! I just feel like that sizes can go wrong super easy in these kinds of shots and I don’t want to maker it harder than it already is while learning to draw certain stuff.

I guess the background isn’t really perfect either, but that isn’t the focus anyway (quite literally).

Lastly: Color.

This was super interesting because I barely do “natural” lighting conditions. Sure it’s super orange compared to plain daylight, but it’s much brighter than most of my other work. I really like the warm tone and it was a challenge to not overdo the dramatic shadows!

So, what do I learn from all this? It’s ok to stick to your comfort zone sometimes. Not all artworks need to be a challenge, it’s ok to just do what you can best!
