The Future King

I noticed in the past, that I can’t seem to focus too long on one artwork…at least if it’s such a “simple” one. It should've been finished at the start of the week - I am so sorry for the delay ):
Don’t get me wrong; it started fantastic! I forgot how much easier other characters than Dabi are and I was done with over half the linework pretty fast… but then I somewhat lost motivation to draw the crown and hands. Not that it was too difficult, I just didn’t want to do it. Well, I did it eventually and was really happy to finally color it! but then… even more problems popped up;
I really struggled with the ambient color here! I didn't want to do the typical lighting with the same shades of red etc. and as time went on, I noticed more and more things that just didn’t add up. It was so bad, that I actually reshaded his face two times! The first time it wasn’t too too bad, but the second time I resized his entire face/head and had to shade it completely again…
What can I say, the rest of it was pretty trivial; the top of the artwork is so light, that there’s not much shading and detail going on anyways and the bottom part is so dark, that it’s barely noticeable as well. As always, I had much fun drawing his hair! I really like long hair and I totally need to draw it more often.
