⭐️ Early access: BBV10s S10 E3 - Schumacher fights back at Argentina '98

For this week's early and ad-free episode of Bring Back V10s, we're turning the clock back to the Nineties. Michael Schumacher turned the tide on McLaren's dominant start to the 1998 F1 season with a surprise victory in Argentina, having collided with David Coulthard to take the lead early in the race.

Ben Anderson and Matt Beer join Glenn Freeman to look back on how Schumacher and Ferrari got themselves into the hunt after McLaren dominated the first two races of the year, and how the Goodyear tyre that helped Ferrari worked against reigning champion Williams.

They also discuss how F1's new rules for 1998 were being viewed by the public, Jordan's nightmare start to 1998, McLaren signing a teenage karter called Lewis Hamilton, Benetton's failed attempt to steal Ford away from Stewart, and Jean Alesi running into Sauber team-mate Johnny Herbert on their first lap out of the pits during practice!

Comments

1) Luca Badoer, he seems like a lovely man and he put in some very good performances that went unrewarded, San Marino 93 was a pretty good one. 2) Roberto Moreno for all the usual reasons. 3) * Pedro Diniz, partly to annoy Edd and partly because he did have some genuinely good moments when he wasn't endangering Jean Alesi, he wasn't disgraced by Hill and was within striking distance of Alesi more than anyone remembers. 4) David Brabham because of his undervalued morale boosting at simtek which goes unnoticed because Hill was doing the same sort of thing at a team people had heard of. 5) Jules Bianchi who wouldn't be on a backmarker list in a just universe but has to slum it here through great performances and horrible luck. 6) Jean Denis Delatraz for liking a photo of my car on Instagram and joining Heinz Harald Frentzen in my "F1 drivers who have liked photos of my car" so therefore it's better than the FW19 argument. 7) Gabrielle Tarquini because he pulled results from some wretched machinery and still found time to become the best touring car driver in history. *This list has received financial incentives from Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição.

1) Luca Badoer, he's a great guy by all accounts and he put in some very good performances that few noticed

First you have to tell us the 7 who are above him on that list 🧐

Hi guys, I just got a membership and I'm loving the content already but I must ask for a segment on one of the Q&As where Edd defends the honour of Esteban Tuero. No pressure though, I'm not demanding that my 8th favourite backmarker get an immediate 3 hours of adoration or anything
