Hello Everyone, Radious here

Today I want to talk about some things that are important to me as a person, and as a modder. I have been part of the modding community for the longest of times; creating simple mods since the original Total War: Rome, and full overhauls since Shogun 2. Looking back at it now, many things have changed considerably since then. It‘s not a surprise that modding adapted, and alongside it the entire TW community.

I like to think that I kept the soul and spirit of Radious mods alive throughout these years in all of Team Radious creations despite all of these changes. There was, is, and always will be a vision here which we all follow. Our mods have always been free, optional and nobody was or could be forced to use them. With each release of a new patch, dlc or game they grew and got larger and far more complex. We were learning new things every day and we  have been putting this experience into our creations. This required more and more of our private time from our busy lives to keep everything updated and support every official patch and DLC and of course develop the mods further. 

This was the sole reason we established the Team Radious Patreon, back in 2017. We wanted to give our fans the chance to voluntarily support our work and help us get a handle on our lives and manage all our problems. We appreciate every single supporter because without them none of this would be possible at such a scale. 

Yet, for some reason, this is a huge problem for many people. Although all mods we make are and will continue to be entirely free and optional there are people who constantly harass us, make personal attacks, and spread lies about us and our work. These people are willing to dedicate much of their free time and attention into this, trying to make us quit and throw shade on us just to get us away from modding scene. 

Our team is one of the most experienced ones in TW community. We love our work and we publish our mods for all our fans who enjoy our content. It is crazy and incomprehensible to us how this can make some people furious and ready to fight us wherever they can.  We are here to mod TW games, not fight petty wars with people driven by hate, anger, and envy, engaging in coordinated bullying campaigns against us. 

It is a dark example of some of the less pleasant parts of the community. We are modders with all our hearts and we are doing this because we love to produce content so many people have enjoyed for so many years. 

Small minded people who dedicate their time to harass our work and members of our Team will not make us quit. They are proof that we are doing something right and we intend to keep doing it. Sometimes people say that you need to measure your success by the enemies you made - in this case it seems we have gone off the charts.

I am not young anymore and I have a family to care about. Stuff like this is a showcase of the negative elements of today’s community and how on the internet everyone feels entitled to act like horrible human beings - all caused by free and optional mods which have been here for over 12 years and giving many other people joy and fun for hundreds and thousands of hours. 

Reasons for this we do not know. We try to mind to our own business, offering help to our mod users with their issues and their first steps in modding. We do not have time nor any interest to join pointless internet wars. It is beyond us why is someone so triggered that we managed to create the longest saga of TW overhauls which brings joy to many fans, supporters and followers across the whole world. We doubt it will reach them, but we have a plea to make: stop pointlessly harassing us, our fans and the work we do. We welcome criticism if it is productive and does not boil down to “Radious crap”.

Lastly, we have a small announcement. This goes primarily to our fans - we won’t be able to support new official releases, patches and dlcs on day 1 as we did for last several years. Pretty much the very same people I talked about today ensured that. Nevertheless, this will not stop us, even though some are trying really hard to. We have been modders for 12 years, loyal to TW games and to our fans. We we will continue creating Radious mods as long as we can.
