I hope you noticed or will if you watch it again: every time Mother Gothel praises Rapunzel or shows affection towards her, it is always at her hair. Like during "mother knows best" especially watch how she interacts with Rapunzel. She doesn't kiss Rapunzel, she kisses her hair. She holds her hair, she emphasizes the importance of her hair.

You take the movies to heart just like I do, and, I think, are able to appreciate all the little details which is really cool. I See The Light is my favorite song from the movie as well. And a fun fact, in the Finnish dub Flynn Rider's voice actor also happens to be my favorite Finnish artist ever. And so, hearing my native version of the mentioned song hit even harder, it was so perfect. I went to see this movie in theaters back in the day, and I was just so.. in love, literally. Tangled became one of my favorite movies right then and there.
