Break in...

...was supposed to be on the road all day today but somebody broke into my car last night and made off with about $4000 worth of work related equipment. Stuff I needed for work. So instead of working, I've spent the day on the phone with insurance people.

Car damage was minimal and no one was hurt thank god. Insurance will cover the car damage (lucked out with an appointment tomorrow afternoon). Not sure about the equipment though. Need to wait a few days to find out. So I may be opening commissions next week. Will let you know.

Work is thankfully rescheduled for Friday, which is the most important thing. :) My drawing schedule is thrown so next page will likely go up next week.

So...yeah, I've been pretty numb all day. Haven't really gotten angry yet, which is weirding me out, big time. This came out of nowhere. Gonna take it easy tonight with pizza, soda, YouTube, and hopefully some drawing if I can concentrate.

You should make a report to the police if possible. While it is a long shot, they may be able to recover some of your stolen equipment and some insurance companies won't replace stolen items without a police report on file. If you know anything like serial numbers for the items that were stolen, make sure to include that in the report. That information can help police prove that items were stolen, and again can help you get your items recovered.

That's what I keep thinking to myself. This could have been soooo much worse. And it's weird because I still haven't gotten legit angry yet. It's still kinda unreal. I did get the car fixed today and I'm back in the mood for drawing. I'll see if I can't post a little something tonight (I leave for the weekend tomorrow). Don't know if there are any leads. Doubtful. There was at least one other break in that night in my complex, so I suppose there's that. I dunno. ^^;

I'm glad you're OK! Add me to the "don't worry about us, take your time" group - do everything you can to get fully reimbursed by your insurance company. Do the police have any leads on catching the jerk who robbed you?

Thanks! Well, things are moving along at a slightly more normal pace now. Yesterday I was pretty much useless. Couldn't even draw I was so dazed by it. Today I'm getting shit done and excited to get back to work! :)

That's terrible, really sorry to hear that. Hope it all gets sorted out, and thirding Mathis and kou - plans and schedules are bound to get shaken up by something like this, so we'll understand priorities getting adjusted too.

Wossa

Fingers crossed. Things could have been so much worse, so I'm doing pretty good.

Stereoscope Comics

Ahh man that sucks, I really hope your insurance covers the stuff you lost

Fortunately the damage was minimal. Getting it fixed tomorrow. Gonna be watching my stuff like a hawk from here on out. Im usually very careful, but I was lazy this one time and didn't finish unpacking the car, so lesson learned.

So far so good. Low deductible for the window. Won't know about the stolen stuff till tomorrow. Fortunately I have until Friday to get all the stuff I need for work (and I have some back up gear). And I was able to reschedule the job, so I'll still have a work day. :)

I live in a crapy part of my city that is not the worst but far from the best. I had someone brake into my car once and another attempt not long after. I know it is tough but shit like this tends to happen but it will happen and glad no one was injured.

I agree with Mathis Don't worry about us, focus on yourself first. It sucks when that happens. Hope everything gets resolved easily.

kou32

Sounds like a plan. Loosing myself in the comic sounds pretty good about now.

Stereoscope Comics

Take all the time that you need, and don't worry about us. This was a crap hand that you got dealt. So take care of things and take some down time.
