Chapter 6, Page 10...

...She's baaaack!
Sorry for the delay on this one. Last week was a busy one (see the Weekly Update for details). I'm a little hot and cold about this one. I like the layout, I like the buildup, but seeing meg straight on just feels flat. Creating dynamic poses and panels can still be a challenge and now I'm thinking a lower angle from the right would be stronger. Also...Meg just doesn't look menacing enough. I don't know. I might redo the last panel before we eventually go to print. It's not bad, but it could be better.
I do love those boots though.
For now, Onto the next page! And since I won't have other things bogging me down this week, I can get it right. ;) Have a great week everyone!
Can we talk about how cool her boot design is?

Looking back two pages, I‘m impressed Meg pulled her preparations off without still being out of breath now. Or did Ellie linger in the restroom getting her courage back?

I love it! As someone who used to be in Ellie's position, this hits home. It feels like she is staring right into me, calling my bluff.

Building on this theme: possibly remove the top left panel, because the empty door isn't really a key frame here. Ellie's initial expression and widening eyes are definitely key frames, as is the full shot of Meg in the chair. Placement of the close-up on Meg's mouth for extra smirk/grin emphasis is tricky, because Meg's crossed legs and boots are clearly important to this scene. That's all the analysis I've got though, not sure how to resolve the position edit without reducing the legibility of the full body pose, or the head turn and eyes wide looking at Meg.

Yeah, the shot of Meg was perfect. And the look on Ellie's face was perfect. Boom!

I definitely do *not* think that panel of Meg "feels flat"! It's dynamite! Plus it's exactly the view Ellie would see. You've got plenty more pages to amp things up--don't overthink it. It looks great to me.

The panel is good the way it is. Meg comes off as unintentionally menacing vs actually trying to terrify Ellie. Which works. She is trying to be friendly and open, but may be coming on a bit strong.

I think it's more like Meg is over eager and just as nervous as Ellie. The call to her mistress and the way Ellie caused her to short circuit by just whispering the word mistress, point to Meg not being the confident dom she pretends to be.

Agreed! I can't wait to see how this goes down with Sam. Although Meg is being smart to acclimate Ellie first before using her as a means to blow Sam's mind as well. She needs to establish a level of trust before just "using" her like that. So clearly she hasn't blow away "all" boundaries. (Though this is getting close. But Ellie DID agree to entering her mistresses own turf.)

I like that idea! Let her expression say everything. Oh the deviousness of this situation.. hah!

I agree. She doesn’t want to be menacing, she already has Ellie hooked. Go too much and she might rip the hook out and scare her off. She wants to set a mood and be in control; intimidate not frighten.

Meg is certainly coming on full force.
It would be interesting to see Ellie just panic or freeze. I mean, that's a lot for a first time.
Though if I'm interpreting what I've read correctly, this is also one of, if not the, first time Meg dommed her own sub. Which makes things much more interesting.

Maybe move the "Good afternoon Ellie" to the current PoV shot panel (leaving Ellie's reaction panel without dialogue), and add an inset at the lower right with just a closeup on Meg's grin with the "...so nice to see you again".

I don't know if lower right angle would improve it. I really like the perspective on that panel. If you want to make her more menacing, I think her facial expression has more to do with it than the angle. And as someone pointed out, since this is Elie's first time, it makes sense that Meg wouldn't try to be overly intimidating, although I feel at this point Ellie understand it's a game and she has been prepared for Meg to be somewhat threatening.
At this point I think I'm as excited as Elie to see where this is going and what Meg has planed!

But honestly it looks fine and looks human doesn't need that much change this is their first real scene together and Meg likes Ellie she could be nervous bit she's hiding it very well. At least that is how I interpret it.

@Henri no no like I said the page is perfect for me, I was responding to Sterero's comment on the comic itself, how he thought maybe Meg should look more menacing before going to print.

I actually think the angle is better like this, almost a pov shot for Ellie, but if you wanted to make Meg look more menacing, maybe have her flashing some teeth in her grin there? Just a suggestion really, honestly for me I think the page looks fantastic, and your work is always top notch <3
