UPDATE: HOME!
Added 2024-07-30 23:13:47 +0000 UTCWe're safe! While the fire is still burning, our zone has been declared safe. The fire has been moving away which has created a natural fire break and the wind has cleared out the smoke from our zone. It's...very surreal. Just walking around, you'd barely know there was a wild fire at all (barely).
We're staying alert of course, but I just put my computer back together, so I'm gonna try and destress, have some fun drawing. We'll see what I come up with. I have quite a few fun sketches/scribbles to work with.

2024-07-31 08:14:47 +0000 UTCNever experienced a wildfire (I live in a big city, or what passes for a big city in this part of the world), but I can imagine the trauma that comes with being forced to flee one's own home for any reason. I've also traveled around California a fair bit, and I know how susceptible these forests are to going up in flames. Sad part is - the scars in the landscape will remain for years; decades, even. Wonder what that's gonna do to property values. :/
