WIPwed: Lt. Columbo

I've loved Columbo for a long time, and I added him to the poll because I've recently started watching through the episodes again and bonding with a good friend of mine over how sweet and sincere Columbo is. For as long as I've been a fan of the show, I've never actually drawn artwork of it before so you guys get a chance to see what my first strategy is. Before I could compose a scene, I needed to figure out my subject. Here are a couple attempts at portraits with varying degrees of success, then my first inspiration for what will become my time-lapse fanart was the wave with the hand, but as I was working on it I came up with the idea with the dog and I think that's the one I'll end up going with. I dunnno though, what do you guys think? Do you like the wave or the dog? Maybe I'll end up doing both.
