"The Dreaming" by Kate Bush is a pretty amazing album. It has to be one of the most experimental/uncommercial albums ever released by a major artist. She reigned it in quite a bit for the "Hounds of Love" follow up (my personal favorite). Cudos to Kate for taking chances. Again, it's quite an album...

And I discovered that Joni Mitchell plays an open tuning on This Flight Tonight, which allowed her to make those sliding chords.

2024-03-27 12:56:48 +0000 UTCMuch as I love "Total Eclipse of the Heart", to hear what Jim Steinman can do with female voices you need to listen to the album Original Sin, a Steinman project credited to Pandora's Box. It features four singers including Ellen Foley (who sang on the first Bat Out of Hell) and includes the song "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" later covered by Celine Dion.
