Just had to say this since you keep mistaking it. Reiner, Bert and Annie are not oriental. When they were talking about Mikasa's mom being oriental they mean Asian.

Your assessment on Kenny’s character was so well done, even if you think you (and even if you do) dun goof sometimes I think you truly understand the themes and what the narrative is trying to convey, Which is why I and many others love watching no doubt. Same case with Shadis in the most recent episode. Keep it up man! As for why Historia punches Levi, I always saw it as a bit in jest almost. Levi is like this super scary untouchable figure to them, none of our crew would ever dare to poke him, but now that Historia is Queen she outranks him, Levi can’t actually retaliate in any manner, so her inner mischief dares her to do it.

I interpreted Kenny wanting the Reiss powers as his desire to know what it's like to be a "good person." Since Uri was so wise and kind to everyone, while Kenny was the complete opposite of that, and since Kenny saw that same kindness and wisdom in Freida when she obtained the Reiss powers, I'm sure Kenny felt like it was the powers passed down that made them act so perfectly and wondered if it could make him like that as well. Almost in a way to "repent" of his sins.

I never read the manga so I don't know for sure, but I always interpreted Kenny's desire to obtain the Reiss powers and "see through their eyes" is a literal desire: He was stirred by the compassion Uri showed him when he spared him and bowed before him, and having lived a hard life turned to violence and coldness to survive, he desired to know what Uri saw in the world that made him so compassionate. So I always interpreted it as Kenny seeing it as a chance to "have a heart" and understand his friend better. Also Historia punched Levi because he's the one who made her become Queen.

The reason why Historia punched Levi was because he was the one to tell her to become queen. But in the manga (and this is a manga spoiler, but doesn't affect any of the story whatsoever), he actually violently grabs her by the collar and shakes her in the air so she says yes. In the anime they really softened that bit up. That's why Mikasa tells Historia she can punch him once she becomes queen cause he can't punch her back then. But it was a very wholesome moment, cause Levi smiled.

If you want to know why Historia punched Levi go read the manga. This arc was condensed considerably in the anime it really needed 12 episodes instead of 10 But if you don't want to its because in the manga instead of Levi just telling Historia to become queen, instead he grabbed her by the collar of her robes and essentially forced her to say yes to the request.
