2023-01-10 13:47:08 +0000 UTCDefinitely agree regarding the sound of Japanese. I think it’s down to a few factors, including: - Japanese only has a few sounds, and just 5 vowels. It also lacks any “harsh” sounds like the “kh” or “tch” (no double consonants at all in fact) - each time you’ve mentioned it, the woman was speaking keigo, which is the most polite and respectful form of Japanese
