REACTING TO Attack on Titan 4x24

Comments

Yeah armin was out of character.. but it's just how it supposed to be now.. the author of AOT never made a mistake and will not do :)

Yagami light

With the mvp list, every episode has a different mvp character haha MVP counter: - Pieck: 1 - Nile: 1 - Colt: 1 - Grisha: 1 - Eren: 1 - Gabi: 1 - Annie: 1 - Connie: 1

And that's beautiful. Showing how much survival's guilt can affect a soldier regardless of how they view themselves versus how everyone else views them is a true thing. The only person Hange believed in that was alive Armin. She obviously views him as the smartest scout behind her, and will let him take control of plans. Armin is the smartest character when it comes to forming a plan and it's not really close besides Erwin, which is why he is always so pained and trying to see why he's alive instead of Erwin.

@Agux909 Pretty much haha

@Eugene Conner Sort of true lol, but jokes aside, that was pretty much Armin just making a massive gamble by coming up with a plan that would take out the Colossal Titan the best way: to sacrifice himself. I wouldn't really call that suicidal, like how soldiers giving their lives in the military wouldn't be considered suicidal. But for post-timeskip Armin, I sorta feel like all this regret about him being the wrong person to be brought back to life kinda made his decision this episode to seem like there were some suicidal tendencies in it

@OmarioRpg Yeah, someone told me about how this scene is kinda supposed to refer to how Erwin would make such massive gambles/sacrifices to achieve his goals, and how Armin is becoming more like that. Not really that Erwin would've done that, but who knows what he would've done anyways. If it wasn't for seeing that person's take on this scene, I would've still thought Armin was just suicidal in this scene hahaha

Yeah with Armin while he has been really smart and has had a lot of good plans he also has a crap ton of survivors guilt and as seen in his little monologue last episode and is a bit suicidal with his plans even back to season 3 when he had the plan to take down the colossal titan he bassicly got himself killed from that, overall I really enjoy Armin's arc this season, an arc of someone trying his best to be Erwin but knows he just cant live up to it

Floch is honestly a great character. He has a huge dislike for Eren until he knew his motives and goals throughout the time skip. Once he knew Eren was going to do everything to defend Paradis, Floch immediately changed his opinion of Eren and wanted to support all his actions. Floch is a character that's never changed in morality. He is willing to fight to the death for Paradis and sides with anyone that says they are willing to the same. His dedication can seem bad at times, but considering what he's lived through, can you really blame his dedication and ruthlessness? That's what makes this show so incredibly good. It's not just the incredible plot twists or the action. The story and writing to make every character understandable or relatable when you look at the AoT universe from their perspective is poetically written. Every single character feels like a live person and acts like they would do what a live person would do based on their ideals and morals. The writing is just next level showing how much being in a war changes people and then when there is a greater threat, you can ignore your personal army, band together, and try to work together to stop a common enemy. It also shows how if any side sat down and actually discussed peace, the war would've been ended. Eren would not create the rumbling if the world didn't insist on killing everyone on the island. Like Jean said, they pushed us and Eren to having to do this. If there was a peace brokered, Eren and Zeke likely would've had an equally peaceful plan to guarantee titans would never be a threat again, immediately. But because the world refused to accept any sort of peace or acceptance of Marley, Eren was destined to try to destroy them and the world that refuses to see Paradis as people that are just like them and don't want to be terrorized upon.

"Well, both... what I intended was to have me become bait to make Connie realize his mistake. But it was just an idea. I thought I could get him to at least consider he was wrong so I could get us out of this predicament. Of course, I also wanted to die!"

Ummm... I think Armin has suicidal tendencies on his own accord. Remember, he never PLANNED to get the collosal... Let's not forget about THAT plan.

Eugene Conner

Yeah it's clear the Collosal transformation even mastered and trying to not do nuke the entire area, is one that the will always create massive destruction based on its size alone. Bert in season 2x6 can be explained because the walls are basically hardening that are insanely to break. Also he was in a very awkward position, and would've been dying from a slashed throat when he turned. From what we know the Colossal transformation is devastating even at it's weakest, and literally a nuke at it's strongest. It really makes you think what Erwin would've done with the attack on Liberio. He definitely wouldn't surrender and let Paradis collapse, but would be have used his power to nuke the port or join the fight instead?

Jason McCaslin

It doesn't help that in almost every spot that the colossal titan would be useful he would be transforming near his friends and injuring them a bit in the transformation but I do understand the frustration

Cas_nc12

love the opinon but i really dont think thats what erwin wouldve done in that exact situation but honestly you may be on to something with the suicidal part i hadnt thought of that at all

no i only meme i love reading stuff like this and maybe ive been too hard on armin but having his brain power and on top of that the colossal titan i feel like i thought more was going to happen and its left me frustrated

Also Armin has massive survivor guilt going for him (same as Reiner) so he do be searching for a possible way to game end himself (maybe not on the same level as Reiner though).

Synad

I still feel like that as well haha. But it's mainly him tryna do what Erwin would do

I feel like it was a bit of suicidal in his head as well

Cas_nc12

The thing is, Armin nearly sacrificed himself to save Connie's mom because he thought about Erwin and how he had to make the greatest of sacrifices and gambles to achieve his goals. So he kind of became Erwin in that scene, gambling his life so either Connie can let go of Falco and save him or have him sacrifice his life for Connie's mom. The scene was basically supposed to show the resemblance of Armin and Erwin, and how Armin is accepting himself and basically becoming a worthy successor to Erwin. I will say though, when I first read this scene in the manga, I thought Armin was doing this because he was suicidal lol

“I’m not a Jaegerist anymore”. Watch out for the King Floch Brigade of cringe about to flood your comments the next few episodes. Their whole lives and existence revolve around waiting for these episodes and flooding the comments.

I know you have your opinions and that's fine but Armin has literally led and planned pretty much everything this season. The attack on Liberio and the way to execute it and rescue Eren was fully his idea. It's at the point where he's basically leading the scouts, even Hange looks to him for how to strategize their moves. Again I know I'm being that guy that you said would be in the comments arguing my opinion. But it's fine that you see him differently.
