I came across a deal on a Petrof P125 that I couldn't pass up. It's from 1999/2000 and has barely been played. I'm going over it doing fine-adjustments before I tune it up, so it will be a few days before I have acoustic arrangement videos again.
Here's a list of what I've done so far:
-vacuumed keybed, cleaned case, tightened action and case screws
-cleaned keys, polished and lubricated balance and key pins
-raised keyheight from 16 to 18mm (might bring it up to 20mm depending on regulation)
-hammers centered to strings
-reshape hammers
Next up:
-align jacks to hammer butts
-lubricate hammer butt leather
-clean and lubricate wippen heel felt
-align capstans to wippens
-regulation: let-off, hammer distance, lost motion, after-touch (right now it has none)
Other minor adjustments
It's like a brand-new instrument despite being 23-ish years old. Despite the excellent condition, I don't believe the previous owner ever had it regulated and probably only had it tuned a handful of times. This is the first piano I've owned that is younger than I am!
I'm excited to share the music I'll make on this piano. It has that lovely tone for which Petrofs are known. Looking forward to getting it all set up!
