Did you miss my bugs?

Uh, nasty! Yes I know. They are pretty cool to work with. The thing is, I've been thinking about the only known son of Spring's Bash'Diya and I only have a single problem.

Bug-ish or more humanoid? It's hard to decide but I guess the bug part will be winning somehow. I want to create something beuatiful but 'ugly'. Faeries are already beautiful, most of them (there are normal appearances too of course) and create something that would make them feel uneasy makes me happy!

This brings other uneasy matters to the table too.

Recurring enemies!

Adult fairies in my fantasy world, are between 20 to 31 cm tall. This means animals and general nature are their predators. They are not down below in the food chain but are often hunted by a big amount of dangers. That's why my fairies are:

- A bit old fashioned (pretty savages for somethings)
- Wild as heck
- Do not trust anyone from outside. Not even fairies from close kingdoms.

And then we can talk about some of the worst enemies they can find.

We have vermin, goblins, orcs and other shadowy creatures. You would think it is more than enough to have huge nature creatures around in a world of fairies but, to begin with, they are not naturals of Hileywinn. A shock!, Am I right? The planet/world these four kingdoms of fairies were jailed in, was the home of some dark and dangerous beasts.

With no light, land  arid and full of dangers. You could say it was something close to a hellish desert. It wasn't until a relevant elf (we won't talk about him yet), landed there and started working his way out.

One thing is sure. He didn't make his way out, but at least he renewed and gave life to the lands. He also had some relevant magic fights which ended in a collision of forces giving shape to the earth.

Before going further, aside from enemis and all these dangers, let me properly introduce you to the Original Bash'Diya.

Autumn Bash' (bash as in BUG/insect)

Summer Bash'

Winter Bash'

Spring Bash'.

These four are the pillars to Hileywinn defense. If they were to fail and do not stop the menace, fairies would have a serious problem. Even so, they are not the only defense system, of course. There are regular guards, soldiers and explorers. But Bash'Diya tho? They are abominations created for the sole purpose of defending every kingdom.  I must insist. The first fairy kings were pretty much out of their minds, still resentfull for the events that sent them to Hileywinn so they behaviour was not very human like.

I like my creatures dipped in moral grays, even better when they do very questionable things for the greater good and the citicens '''''try'''''' to consider it a good choice. They are beast, animals, fantasy wild creatures so offffff course.

Aaaa-troooo-ciooouusss- For my fairies I always talk in general terms. There are good fae that behave kindly, accept other species (like humans), and so on. Resentment runs through their veins(and schools...) and it's also hard for them to stand bullshit from outsiders. Naivety leading you or others to mortal danger? The higher your society title and the biggest your responsabilities, the more unbearable naivety it is for them.

Because, at the end, they do not spend 50 years studying and training for a random wildthing to visit and disturb their safety. Spring's prince has a lot to say about this matter, because his younger sister breaks havoc and drices him crazy for a long time. She will learn to listen and adapt to new rules since she grew between humans and everything is a game for her.

Humans are responsible for their distrustful behaviors, but that's another story for another time.

Another creature considered as a danger, is untraceable, for the moment. I already mentioned it in my last Lore post!

Spring's Bash'Diya had a kid which means too much power in someone similar to them. Some rumors state that he could be hiding between the Sadoners (the sad ones, mocking the fairies who live in the shadows, with no ruler).

This design is just a second sketch. It's too cute for my liking and I need to throw some sadoner clothes on him.

He's what you would call a character built around vengeance! He will be one of the leaders to guide The Shadows against Spring's Kingdom.

What can I say? I'd like to work on this more, elaborate on those enemies! But this needs time and it's something I have less and less. Yikes. But there will be another lore post.

That I promise!

Lo gracioso es que sí son aus caras, pero funcionan como máscaras 🤣 se pueden quitar cual tapa para meter el pergamino con las órdenes Reales (muy normal todo, encima las escriben con sangre)
