Abandoned Mountain Top Resort left to Nature - URBEX
Added 2020-11-25 17:52:46 +0000 UTCWhilst driving through rural Portugal, I noticed an old 60's style building high above us.
To my suprise I was able to just drive straigh upto it and have a look around and found it had an entire resort complex and even an abandoned town off in the distance.
This was just going to be added into one of the other Portugal videos, but I gathered so much good footage it just kind of became it's own thing.
Such a fascinating place, what would have once been a swanky restaurant, bar and hotel, has since been looted, vandalised and left to rot. Yet, with the murals on the walls and funky 60's style arcitecture, there was still alot of beauty here. No idea what happened to this place or why it was left, the only clue I found was a newspaper for 2004, maybe the last time open, but this kind of thing can been seen often in Portugal. It's a mystery but I hope you enjoy it.
Note: it was mentioned in the video, but Lance (the dog) was fine in here & kept under close supervison. I'd scoped it out before filming, swept paths for us and stopped him going in areas that weren't suitable.
