He had a few jobs he needed a hand on and was headed to a classic car auction where two of his collection were listed, so asked if I'd like to join in "seeing what's what" A day of perving on metal and generally messing about persued.

The oldest SL in that lineup is a 190SL. The 300SL was the the Gullwing model. The 190SL goes for six figures, the 300SL goes for seven figures.

2021-05-15 21:23:02 +0000 UTCOh memories 😍. I had a red TR7 in the 70’s and our family car in the 50’s was a Studebaker. When it reached a certain altitude the engine cut out. Our favourite family story was TWICE climbing Mt Hotham (Victoria, Australia 6,000ft), a narrow dirt track with sheer drop off . . . and it died. Dad says “you all get out and I’ll turn it round”.(52 point turn), Mum “no, if you go over, we all go over!”
