The other way out: track test

Happy Sunday all!

Thought I'd share a few screen grabs from yesterday's activities with you as I had a lot of fun stretching Amber's legs, barrelling through some seriously "out there" deserted valleys.

There is another route to our land, but this track is not really used anymore and is almost reclaimed by nature in places, so by no means is it an easy alternative track but it is one of our emergency exit routes if all else fails in the event of fires. But it just so happens to come with the most incredible views, wild forests and landscape changes.

We've walked it a lot, but yesterday with Lance safely resting back home with Emma, I decided to test it out and see if the van could actually do it and make it through ok.

It was a challenge in places and at one point (photo 5) I thought I'd be sleeping here the night πŸ˜†, but even after all the rain fall making sections boggy, we ploughed through with no problem. We climbed steeper dirt tracks than I've ever attempted before and it was staggering to see how the now manual Amber just climbed so effortlessly, the new wheels and extra lift also playing a big part.

Once we got to higher ground and the the tracks smoothed out, I won't lie a bit of rally cross ensued. (last photo) which probably wasn't wise... none of this was wise but shit it felt good using the van "Properly" again! πŸ˜‚

I've got no idea where or when the footage of this random jaunt will slip into a video but It'll be coming up in the near future.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends all, I'm currently having a play with the Dock video 2 so that will be ready for you this coming week.

All my best,

C.J

Wow.... you will be swapping the old flat cap for a flying helmet next. It a great way of getting the mud out of the wheel arches after a good slide round. Great to hear lance is doing ok, hope Emma is too. Docking looks great, any further additions planned for it ?All the best. Daz.
