Attibute Panel: Evolution from an Artic Wolf

14 - Eyes in the distance

Luke was in front of his prey and walked to reach a new evolutionary level, so he instructed Baxter to lie down on the side in the bushes and not to move.

After all, even if Baxter wanted to, when hunting this prey as large and powerful as a Musk Ox his companion could not help him at all.

He could say for sure, this large animal caused him much more fear than most of the animals found in the Arctic. Its huge body, fur and pair of curved horns gave him a strange feeling.

In his previous life the closest he ever came to an animal was when he visited a ranch, and he vaguely remembers it being a donkey that at the end of the day ended up providing a big hit that broke a rib.

However, this was not the time to think about something like that. Luke had to concentrate and every step had to be precise so as not to make mistakes, but the first thing he had to do before attacking rashly was to observe his surroundings.

Musk Ox are not alone and only will they get to be that means she had lost from her herd, so this was an opportunity Luke needed to take very seriously.

Only he could hunt this beast.

There were many factors Luke had noticed so far. This Musk Ox was not fully grown, it was a little over three feet tall and they can weigh anywhere from 180 to 410 kilograms which was an unimaginable amount.

This weight exceeds Luke by several times today. Considering that an adult wolf can weigh between 30 to 50 kilograms, he already had an idea of what it meant to face him.

And right now, what had Luke worried was definitely the Ox's horns that could cause fatal wounds if they were to pierce his skin. Even so, if the Ox's horns didn't have the ability to cause him fatal wounds, the pain he would feel from being pushed by the horns would be very high.

But Luke had no plans to back down at this point.

As of now Luke had made up his mind not to back down in the face of an enemy as long as his stats were not doubled by the enemy, so this battle was inevitable.

The cold crimson eyes revealed a bloodthirsty, ferocious bloodlust of a powerful predator!

He had to get a chance!

"I must be silent..."

Luke had already set his target and from the moment he set out to attack the Ox he began to crawl very slowly, the snow helping him a lot in that task thanks to the color of his fur.

His four limbs made a slight sound in the thick snow.

However, this slight sound did not bother the Ox who was slowly walking through the bushes together in front of him.

In the surroundings there were large bushes, gigantic trees and stones sticking out of the bushes. Just now, the Ox stopped again as she tried to smell the scent of the ground.

Finding nothing, her eyes fixed on a bush and she began to eat grass for a while, and when she finished she looked around again, her pair of eyes showing a trace of anxiety.

All she wanted was to find her manda, but with no sense of smell she was not very sensitive and could not distinguish traces of scent of urine or anything that would lead to her family.

This sent her into despair, searching anxiously and disorientedly for any new traces her family might have left along the way.

But no matter how hard she searched, in the end all she managed to do was waste a lot of physical energy, so she had to move to eat to recover all that wear and tear.

Her parents had taught her how to find the best food inside this white place and also how to protect herself, but she had not learned how to find the group in case she got lost.

Right now she is alone, in this vast arctic place, where places can end her life in a thousand ways.

And this anxious Musk Ox did not know that danger was quietly approaching.

...

However, this scene at this very moment was captured by explorers filming an episode for a documentary about the Arctic. At this moment, a group of five scouts were looking around and captured this scene.

All of the scouts were from Volgograd, Russia.

The team was not only made up of explorers, but also wildlife researchers and filming experts.

This year's documentary will be about the strangest creatures in the Arctic. Not only did they want to discover how animal life was changing here, at the edge of the habitable world, but also to capture beautiful moments.

But within the large team, there was one girl who was participating in a competition at her university where she would try to demonstrate a different behavior of the wolves. Rue, only twenty-three years old, was very beautiful and didn't mind going into places that even some of the bravest men in the world wouldn't dare to tread.

She had a very refined appearance, her eyes were blue as the sky in spring and her short pale golden hair gave her a perfect combination with her curious personality.

For many years, with the sole purpose of truly recording the activities of various arctic creatures after a blizzard, she went into these types of areas.

How does a litter of rabbits act after a snowstorm? What do the wolves do?

Her love for wolves knew no bounds, she believed that the behavior of wolves was truly worth admiring and being known to all.

The process to create a documentary was long and time consuming, not only did you have to do hours and hours of filming but you also had to consider many other things like the shots, what you manage to get and the weather of course.

After four days of snowstorm, the time had come for Rue to have some great footage. And to alleviate her boredom in these last days, her friend Coin who belonged to her filming group recommended that together they open a page on a streaming platform.

Their last broadcasts were successful, they were not only known for their great works but also the foundation that sponsored their team had announced it to the internet.

Therefore, after introducing their entire group to the internet, they promised to record a live stream and then edit out parts that could not be shown due to the platform's rules. None of the people understood that what they were watching was a pre-recorded live stream, so everyone lived the moment some time later but at the same time as everyone else.

Although the initial process of the transmissions were so boring that even her motivation ceased, in the words of the team leader Professor Finnick, she understood that there were many people who loved nature as they did.

The netizens understood nature and now those who would actually enjoy Rue's long transmissions usually put it on the back burner while they completed some other work.

There are many people who love to see wild animals and much better to enjoy broadcasts where younger people could more easily access them.

Moments before departing and encountering the wolf and Ox scene, the crew was setting up while Rue took this moment to begin her personal filming.

"Hello everyone, I'm Rue and we are about to embark on our new journey towards a new mission. As you all know, on my website I reported a heavy snow storm, so it's going to be a great day for our team to film."

Rue had a great facility to connect with people, her great communication skills granted her many facilities to get a job and many other opportunities within communication.

"As you all know, our team is sponsored, as you know we came to this place by sea. Just at 20 knots through the arctic ocean and we arrived on board the 'safayer prince' one of the big cruise ships that have recently started to cruise the arctic with increasing frequency."

"The company sponsoring our trip has a chain of very suitable and affordable cruises for you all to experience. Now visiting and seeing the Arctic is no longer an impossibility for all of you watching from your warm home."

"Everyone should know that an arctic adventure has become easily accessible if you all are willing to share it with many others. But I think that won't be a problem, ex my first Arctic cruise trip I met the cameraman who now works together with our team, the famous Mr. Brad who will be in charge of filming the new documentary we are working on."

"The most incredible thing about the cruise trip is that before seven in the morning you can cross the Arctic Circle witnessing the 'virgin' nature without exposing us directly to it, in the documentary you will be able to see the beautiful Arctic landscape that leaves no one indifferent."

Rue was very surprised that many of the cruise passengers had no idea about the landscapes that could be appreciated at certain times. Therefore, being a passionate girl, she created a publication about the ten things all tourists should do when visiting the Arctic by cruise ship.

"Alright, right now we are setting off to position ourselves to shoot. This time Coin is next to me, Finnick is driving and Caeser next to Brad taking care of the surroundings."

"Thank you for always keeping me in mind, but when I become famous I will act in a movie where I hunt a werewolf." Brad said with a wry smile.

"Hahaha, you're still obsessed with werewolves and the only thing you accomplish is annoying Rue more, haha."

"Believe me I'll cover your face in every scene you appear in." Rue said with a bit of seriousness. After all, she was called in the group by the girl with a passion for arctic wolves.
