models + some news and thotz for activity going forward

As ya'll can see, I suck at updating this thing. My campaign to work on a model or so a month has gone forward silently based on models of my own choosing. Below is a list of models I've finished but maybe haven't announced, from both before I announced I would be doing models and after.

Now for the bad news. My backup hard drive shit the bed. I dropped it and it nuked my backups from when I crashed before and everything I was working on, including an epic dva animation. I'm working on recovering it but there's a very low chance I will get anything off the drive. Further, the amount of demand making renders and animations has on my time and attention, the constantly increasing complexity and levels of detail expected for renders, and the overall horrible performance of blender have basically enmiserated me. It takes a VERY long time to make this content. Increasingly I find that I'm phoning it in with renders and I just sort of want to, DAZ style, choose a background and a pose and call it a day. They feel like an obligation in some cases rather than a passion. This is especially true in light of the recent allegations against Blizzard and a whole slew of other game companies.

In other words, I feel depressed, Blender is no longer the escape for me it once was since, at risk of sounding melodramatic, behind the shiny veneer of Blizzard's diverse and attractive characters is the toil of unhappy employees in a hostile environment. All I can say is, I hope they get their union.

Anyways, all this to say, I'm going to be taking a bit of a break on renders with the hope of coming back twice as strong. In the meantime, I intend to find a better backup strategy, focus on my irl work, and try and keep my head screwed on straight during this pandemic.
