Big News Update: Cyber Rift Reboot and future of our Patreon

Today we have some pretty exciting news: we're rebooting Cyber Rift! Ever since the initial concept we were ecstatic to work on the project, however there were many issues with the original implementation both code/story wise, and we wanted to address them in the best way possible. What this means is we are uprooting the code from the very core of our game, and completely changing almost every aspect of it. The main way we're doing that is another big announcement: we're switching to Unity!

This will be a pretty major and positive change to the game since we will be able to create a lot more consistent and interesting content for Cyber Rift with the expanded tool set of Unity rather than RenPy's limited set. Some major features that you'll be looking forward to in our first proper version:

-Completely reworked story

-Brand new designed ship and home base

-Brand new map

-Better and more interactive environments

-New way to repeat unlocked scenes

-Quest log

-Day/Night Cycle

Don't worry about missing your favourite characters from Cyber Rift though! We will be focused on bringing back all the characters introduced in the first versions of Cyber Rift like Junky and Elsie, and we will definitely be bringing in some unique and interesting new characters as we progress along. Same goes for locations like Jukarya, Fortuna and Cyberia on our newly redesigned map!

Admittedly this amount of new features sounds a little ambitious, and we wanted to announce a brand new addition to our team specifically for coding and redesigning Cyber Rift! We're already hard at work on the brand new version of the game, but we also wanted to make sure everyone new that this is going to be a bit of a longer process due to the sheer amount of art/content we are working on. Our current goal is to release the new version in 2-3 months, however we will be providing consistent and thorough art updates of the design process and showing you guys all the crazy new things we are working on!

We're extremely excited for this brand new direction for Cyber Rift, and you guys have some wild stuff to look out for! As always we'll be updating you guys on the brand new content, and you can expect at least 2 pinups per month as we work towards our new goal. Stay tuned for some brand new art updates very soon!
