Supporter Newsletter - May

Hello to all of our beautiful Supporters! What an awesome but speedy month April was and I hope you are all already having a great start to May as well. This year has already been going by WAY too fast for my liking. It just seems like everything is speeding by with no time to catch up on other stuff we're working on. I guess that's a good thing though because time flies when you're having fun and working hard.

This year has already been an awesome year. We've hosted our second charity event stream in April and it was a blast. For anyone unaware, we do host these charities events every 2 months now instead of how we did things last year every 3 months. It does mean that our planning starts almost immediately on the next charity event once we've finished the previous one. Plucky, our Event Coordinator has been absolutely amazing with setting up these events for the team and helping our Stream Team to nail things on stream when it happens.

I know I've mentioned this before but our upper staff team is still going through some changes. From leadership roles moving around, being redefined, changing our processes, and so on, it's been a lot of work for us to keep the ball rolling alongside all of these changes but we're making it happen and won't slack anytime soon. With these changes, you should all look forward to some more awesome things coming to Requiem in terms of events, other games, new activities, and more. We're always looking to improve the gaming community overall and give you all more to enjoy during your time hanging out with us. We couldn't ask for a better community and with that, it means we try to give our all back to you.

Okay, let's jump into our expenses. Please note that all of these expenses do not include any extra revenue Requiem did not spend. A majority of the money spent has gone towards Staff Benefits (%36) which includes staff payments, team giveaways, officer of the month, sot officer plunder passes, etc. Our monthly normal savings (%20) go towards our charity events and taxes at the end of the year. An additional expense that we always have is our Server Hosting/Design Work (%10) which goes towards our VPS, Dedicated Machine Hosting, Graphic Design, Video Editing, etc. Our last monthly expense is our Events/Giveaways (34%) which goes to exactly what you'd think.

We are currently in preparations for our upcoming Summer Bash event which will be entirely different from how it was last year and I really think you'll all enjoy what we have in store. Sea of Thieves and Minecraft are definitely going to shine during this time.

Lastly, I wanted to give you all a quick update on what is going on with our FiveM section in Requiem. Have no fear, things are going fine and we're continuing to work towards getting an awesome server out to you all. Recently, we had a discussion on how we want to move forward and will be shifting things around a bit to better fill the needs of our community to get a server out to you all much faster than we previously aimed for. It's been too long that we haven't had the awesome content from our FiveM section so we wanted to get things rolling on that much faster than it was. Look for some updates on this very soon!

Admin - Penny

Happy May!  

Quick introduction in case you don’t know me, my name is Penny and I’m the community manager and an admin in Requiem. If you ever need support or someone to talk to please don’t be afraid to reach out.   

It is the best month of the year (it’s my birth month) and it’s honestly been lit around here. Throughout April I’ve continued to manage our merch shop and work on fulfilling orders. I’ve been doing lots of behind the scenes stuff and managing all the upper staff changes that have been going on.   

Throughout May I’ll continue with my normal duties as well as continuing to work on our store and begin looking into expanding our merchandise. I’ll be collecting feedback as our orders ship and seeing how we can improve.  

As always I’ll be working with our amazing staff and community to see how we can make Requiem an even better place to be and looking for more ways to show our appreciation to all of you that make it such a great server to be an admin for.  

Don’t forget to wish me a happy birthday and I’ll see you all with another update in June.

Moderator - Plucky

Hello there, Plucky here. Its been a while since I have given newsletter update, and oh boy have we done a lot in the last few months. We recently hosted our second Charity Stream of the year, where we managed to raise just over $800 to go to the International Rescue Committee to support humanitarian aid in Ukraine!! We had an amazing stream filled with content - including Sea of Thieves, Minecraft Bed Wars, and an amazing inclusion of our new Guild Wars 2 Discord!   

This last month we saw major updates to Sea of Thieves, and have had to update the way we run our Alliance Servers and Events. Athena's Fortune Events are in with the new addition of the Legend of the Veil voyage, as well as the increase of the Athena's Fortune cap from 20 to 30. We also saw megalodons disappear from the wild seas, and only spawning as part of Merrick's adventure. To work around this, as well as to help people complete their Shrouded Deep Adventure deeds, We have replaced all Megalodon Hunts with a new Shrouded Deep Event where our Event servers are dedicated to completing this new adventure! We will be returning to regular Megalodon Hunts from May 13th!  

An exciting thing that we will be implimenting into our SoT section in May is a new "Mini-Event" type of event, where we will be providing smaller events with a shorter duration compared to our other primary events. These events will be dedicated to providing our event experiences to different time zones where having a large event would not be a viable option. I am looking forward to further developing and building these events with the feedback from our staff and community members.  

The gears never stop turning around here, and I am super excited for a massive project that we are working on behind the scenes, and I can't wait to share more information and announce this to the rest of the community very soon!

Hello there It's Yassinator, back again with my newsletter update.  

It's been a while since my last update but We've achieved quite a lot during that time, Digging into our Support section we've had quite a few staff changes recently. Speaking of which The applications for the Support Team is still open for anyone wishing to serve the Community in a different and more exciting front within customer service.  

There were talks and requests of a more simpler ticket system, I didn't hesitate to act and went ahead to implement a new ticket system under the management of Ticket Tool. With this new system that we have, the Tickets should be simple to open and close with a click of a button and it will be way more organised within the few categories I have created.

Friends, Sailors, Fishermen!  

Another month has passed and Ramsey's sent us out for yet another Athena grind. The veil voyage have been a huge success and it's been a while since I last so many Athena ships on our servers. Same with the new adventure. Who would've thought that we'd see a Shrouded Ghost on a regular basis?  

But now that you've lend me your ears I also have a personal announcement as the winds have also changed and are slowly pulling me away from Requiem. So I though this monthly update would be a great place to thank you for all the fun hours we've spent together on the seas. It's been a wild ride over the last twelve months on the SoT team and I'm exited to see ElevatedMinds giving his own spin to it. Please be as kind to him as you've been to me, you're his favourite people after all.  

Anyways. It's been an honor and a pleasure being part of this great crew for the last year. Be assured you'll always have a special place that I hold dearly.

Howdy Requiem Supporters,  

After transitioning into the Operations Manager role, I have been championing a new culture of progress and accountability which ensures that every action we take has a measurable positive impact on not only our members, but our supporters that directly empower our mission to provide all gamers with a safe and enjoyable environment.  

We are working relentlessly to improve our internal processes and create pipelines for transparency and collaboration with our community on the direction Requiem should head next. I am very excited about our upcoming improvements to all areas of Requiem and look forward to seeing our impact as we grow and create new experiences for all of our members.

Hello my favorite people!  

It's that time again here on Requiem….  

I’d like to start by introducing myself. I’m ElevatedMinds, the new Sea of Thieves Team Lead for Requiem. I am currently transitioning into the position from Recruitment Lead where I helped in reaching out to the world and spreading the word about Requiem.  I am looking forward to working hand in hand with the community and the stellar staff we have here on Requiem to bring our SoT Community to new uncharted waters with new upcoming events, streams and more content!  

If anyone (especially you!) have any new and exciting ideas, questions or comments, my door is always open.   

We are always on the lookout for more Officers to help guide our newer pirates through the treacherous seas. If you're interested, feel free to drop us a line! Just watch out for the hooks.
