2020-12-21 06:22:29 +0000 UTCTom's matching waistcoat and mask combo is fantastic! I think the original Vacation and this one are the best of the series, but this one is my favorite. The other thing about the class issue is that it was the last gasp of the 80s when bonuses and swimming pools were still a piece of the 'American dream,' so it fits in with that, I think. But I believe the Griswolds are supposed to be middle class (compared to broke cousin Eddie and Clark's wealthy boss).

And you're correct about your observations of Americans... we do dread the holidays with our dysfunctional families, and we don't all live in multi-million dollar houses.
