I just watched Apocalypse Now last night! Hope you include it in a future poll. You absolutely must see it!

Just thought I'd add: definitely don't forget the terribly underrated 80s BODY SNATCHERS directed by Abel Ferrara. And skip the gawdawful 2000's hot mess with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig.

I would definitely agree that Gordon's work was without parallel before this.

I'd want to see a reaction to the 78 version

People were voting for the 1978 version here (as the date was in the poll) so probably fairest to definitely watch that one. If you are also offering to watch the 1956 one as well then there will be few complaints :-) Thanks guys.

Exactly, for me Tarantino references sometimes brilliantly but a pastiche is not always a good thing...

The 56 version is very good but I do prefer the 78 version.

I originally suggested the 1956 version but also see that a lot of folks are partial to 1978 - I like both for different reasons! But it does make sense to start with 1956 if you do plan to watch both, although to be fair the votes were for 1978. 🤷‍♂️

I want you to watch both Invasions but you should start with the 1950s.

We might do both Invasion of the Body Snatchers and reservoir dogs, but just to be sure, are you all wanting us to watch the 1970’s invasion or 50’s version?

Reservoir Dogs is a City on Fire rip off and the only uniquely Tarantino thing he's ever known for is his snappy dialogue. He's such a self indulgent wanker. Sorry just had to put in my 2 cents also if you like him no offence intended.

I'm so torn between BONE TOMAHAWK and COLOR OUT OF SPACE, which I believe is probably the best Lovecraftian film adaptation EVER. MADE.

I think the fairest solution would be to react to both if it remains as close as it is! Both movies are worthy winners (full disclosure: I voted for Invasion lol).

Quick views on this list top to bottom. Reservoir dogs. Early Tarintino. Gritty and violent but good. Not his best but not his worst either. Apocalypse Now. Absolute masterpiece. Bone Tomahawk. Okay movie but I didn't like it as much as some people seem to. Odd film in that it's kind of a horror western. Invasion of the Body Snatchers. A solid classic horror film and the 1979 version on the list here is my favorite version The Neon Demon. Never watched it. Citizen Kane. I acknowledge it's classic status but it has never been one of my favorite movies. Cape Fear. Good performance from De Niro. Toy Soldiers. I haven't seen two of the movies on this list but of the 8 I have seen this is by far the weakest. Saw it once and never had any desire to see it again. Doesn't look like it will win but I can't believe it got the number of votes that it did. Box Office flop and had about a terrible rating at Rotten Tomatoes. Excaliber. One of my favorite movies. Not much of a budget for special effects but man what a cast. Great dialog and some truly great scenes. Clour Out of Space. Have not seen this.

Apocalypse Now being so far behind is outrageous. Hope the lads take it upon themselves to watch it at some point, Sean seemed like he really wants to watch it
