American History X (1998) MOVIE REACTION! FIRST TIME WATCHING!!

If you can find it, you should watch/listen to Jacque Fresco on his experience infiltrating the KKK and changing their minds. He dedicated his life to finding solutions for humanity's problems. His "big picture" was a resource based economy. It's a real shame that most people who hear the smallest bit of info about it immediately dismiss it in some way.

Another special film that I've heard so much about since I was a kid. Pretty sure I saw THAT curb scene when I was about 6 because....."out of this world" parenting skills. Had never seen it before so watched it for the first time with ya! That was definitely an experience.....fucking incredible performances and writing. Definitely gonna have to add it to the collection. Not sure how often I'll watch it, it being a bit hard to swallow. It's an amazing film nonetheless and incredibly important, particularly in the 90s. I really hope it shook up theaters when it came out. With how honest this film was, it should've eradicated every bit of racial prejudice in its tracks, but unfortunately, people are people. I feel like it's gotten simultaneously better and worse, mostly worse. I sincerely hope everyone involved with white supremacy gain compassion and perspective with the passing/changing of times. It's a lot to ask, but that's really all we can do. Thanks for yet another special reaction. Even though I already knew how the film ended, it didn't stop me from bursting into tears. The ending quote was *chef's kiss* beautiful and poignant. You always know a film will be truly amazing when it begins and ends with a breathtaking shot of an ocean. Nothing compares to nature shots. P.S. You almost cried at the end, Shaun!!! It's only a matter of time! I seriously don't know how either of you hold the tears in. All you gotta do is add an emotional orchestral score and I'm on the floor, bawling!
