2024-08-11 11:00:03 +0000 UTCIf you love '..briefly gorgeous' i would recommend 'at Swim two boys' as well. It's another book with incredibly beautiful prose and similar vibes, maybe a bit more challenging because it's written in an Irish brogue, but once you get used to it it's so rewarding! I love 'Maurice' as well. :)

2024-03-05 16:30:50 +0000 UTCHi, I'm Barbara, I'm 68 born in 1955, so Fellow Travelers means a lot, though I've been a Matt Bomer fan for over 18 years. I'm asexual and was married to a gay man, much like Lucy, he died in 1997 from alcoholism, largely I think because of living a closeted life. I've been involved with activism for decades now and was involved in campaigns including banning conversion practices, decriminalisation, equal marriage, and I volunteer with our local Pride. I'm a retired trainer and set up training for care workers in lgbtqia+ awareness.

2023-12-22 11:19:13 +0000 UTCThis actually doesn‘t belong here but I have a very happy moment to share and I didn‘t know where else to do it so here it comes, my own „Thank-you-Alice-Oseman“ moment 😊 My 12-year-old son has ADHD. He liked reading when he was younger but he found it increasingly harder to concentrate when he got older so he stopped. I love reading so I was very sad when he said he didn’t like it anymore. Last summer he told me that he missed reading and asked me if I had something with lesser text and more pictures because that would be easier for him. So I gave him Heartstopper. He has read volumes 1-5 for 3 times now and last night he wanted to have Solitaire. He stood up until 6 a.m. to finish the book because he loved it so much! I am so proud of him 🥰 Thank you Alice Oseman for making my son happy and eager to read again 🤗

2023-12-22 10:20:44 +0000 UTCHi! I am Anton. I am 22 and currently reside in Australia. At the moment I am working in retail, but, that's soon to change as I am on my way to finish my studies - soon to be a primary school teacher. My favourite LGBT novel that I've read recently is Adam Silvera's "They Both Die at the End". The book has rekindled my love for book-reading, as I haven't properly read a novel since I was a kid haha. I've discovered Fellow Travellers through your first reaction - which prompted me to be a member of your community, and watch the series myself. I am so glad to have stumbled upon you. Thank you for your content!

2023-12-18 00:47:40 +0000 UTCHi! My name is Kim and I live in Southern California. I’m a clinical social worker in a healthcare setting working with trauma and chronic pain patients. I spent years working with queer youth and continue to do that through volunteering. I love reading about queer history, a couple of my favs are “boots of leather, slippers of gold”, “Odd girls and twilight lovers.” “The Gay Revolution.” Of course, right now my obsession is with Heartstopper and all the novellas in the Oseman-verse. They have been SO incredibly healing for me and I am so happy I found your channel. Your story resonates with me, my family is also incredibly homophobic and I was kicked out of my house when I came out (I relate to Darcy’s character A LOT) but I have an amazing wife that I’ve been with for 14 years and I have made an incredible queer family and I love finding communities like yours to be involved with as well. Community and feeling seen is SO important and thank you so much for creating this community. You often say that Alice is saving lives (she absolutely is!!) but so are you 🌈💜

Would recommend the non-fiction book Ace Voices by Eris Young to anyone who's interested.

2023-11-08 20:23:18 +0000 UTCHi, My name is Jon. I am 70 years old. I have a diverse background. I’m currently a professor of Public Health at a local university. Before that I was a professional actor and director. I started my own theater company in Greece in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I made a career change in my late 20s mainly to help in the fight against AIDS. I live in Monterey, California. My favorite Favorite novel that influenced me when I was very young ( it had gay undertones) was called “Been Down So Long it Looks like up to me” by Richard Farina. Published in 1966.

2023-11-05 07:42:35 +0000 UTCI have read both Ari and Dante books and have them as audio books on my phone. I listen to them on my anxiety walks. I want to see the movie sp badly and I can't wait for it to be on streaming. I would've went to the theater to see it, but it wasn't shown where I live or anywhere near. I was so upset.

2023-11-04 21:30:57 +0000 UTCSO glad you loved Ari and Dante. I am currently reading the 2nd book again right now and I couldn't love this story more if I tried! I am so sorry to hear your story. You know what I have never in my life made the connection between my name and it's queerness. I have considered changing my name for the longest time due to the connection it holds to my family... however you may have just changed my mind!

2023-11-04 21:30:38 +0000 UTCName: Jamie Age: 40 Occupation: Country of Residence: US Favourite LGBT novel: Girl Walking Backwards. (it was the first one I read a long time ago while dating my very first girlfriend, so it holds a special place in my heart because that was when I was young and navigating this new thing about myself. She bought it for me and we'd read it together)

2023-11-04 20:01:25 +0000 UTCHi, I‘m Wiebke, I‘m 39 years old and I‘m from Germany (near Cologne). I work in daycare and mind toddlers while their parents are at work. At the beginning of this year I watched Thom’s book recommondations on „Thom is Trans“ and bought almost all of them. Whilest doing that, I found even more interessting books and now I have a list of about 100 books and I have finished about 40 so far 😅 I obviously love Heartstopper and the whole Osemanverse but some other favourites from my list are - Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz (I started reading the second book this week) - Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas - Date me, Bryson Keller by Kevin van Whye - Camp by L.C. Rosen - The Witch Boy by Molly Knox Ostertag - If this gets out by Sophie Gonzales & Cale Dietrich - Only mostly devastated by Sophie Gonzales - Fred und ich by Lena Hach (only available in german) My favourite non-fiction is „Have Pride. An inspirational history of the LGBTQ+ movement“ by Stella Caldwell. This book gave me a label I didn‘t even know I needed. I always had a bad conscience because I‘m straight and happily married and my life is easy in so many ways that it isn‘t for people from the LGBTQ+ community and the only reason I exsist is because my grandad couldn’t have this easy life. My grandad was gay which wasn‘t possible in the 1950‘s. So he felt forced to get married and build a „normal“ family. By the time my mum was 11 years old, he couldn’t handle this life anymore and commited suicide. I have been incredibly sad that I didn‘t get to know him all my life and I felt very alone with this. But when I read this book a few month ago I learned that these marriages to hide queerness were so common that there is a name for them. They are called „Lavender-marriages“ and the children of these couples are called lavender-children, which makes me a lavender-grandchild. It felt so good to know that I‘m not alone with that and when I found Jakie-Ross LAVENDER‘s YouTube channel around the same time, it felt like fate 😊

Married, bi, with kids, found you after watching Heartstoppers with my bi daughter. I found your reaction videos after trying to process my suddenly present emotions from 25 years ago from my own beautiful gay teenage experience. Thank you for helping me feel sane. My favorite queer novels are Am I blue and Annie on my mind because they were the ones available to me in my youth!

Here is a link to the music video of this really good song. Troye looks stunning in this video and his wink is a bit of a give-away as to what is to come. 2023-10-13 17:52:06 +0000 UTCHello all! My name is Mel and I'm 30. I don't do anything too exciting, just janitorial, but someone's gotta do it right? lol I'm from the crazy Las Vegas, and my favorite LGBT book is Cemetery Boys. Saw it in Barnes and Noble one day and I think that's honestly what started my journey into reading queer novels, and watching that kind of content; now I'm seriously addicted. I'm so excited I discovered this channel and outlet and I cannot wait to binge watch every reaction I haven't seen yet.

2023-10-02 02:09:57 +0000 UTCHello everyone, I'm Ryan, 20 years old, from New Zealand, and currently working at a petrol station to fund my tertiary education. I'm only a couple of years away (hopefully) from becoming a full time paramedic, which is veryyy exciting, as helping people is what makes me happy. As for my favorite queer novel, I think that is a very unfair question as there are so many good ones and I always have trouble picking my favorites of things, but I am currently reading 'They Both Die at the End', and I'm really enjoying it. I also thought the Ari and Dante books were really good, so I guess if I had to pick, any of these would be at the top for me right now.

2023-10-01 15:54:07 +0000 UTCHi Jackie-Ross and everyone! I’m Jay. I’m 49, queer/bi/demi and I live in the uk, on the south coast though I’m originally from London. I’m currently not working due to illness/disability but in the future if I can, would like to start working as a visual/fine artist (what I’ve always wanted to do). I love reading and have a lot of favourite lgbtq books but after Heartstopper wrecked (in the best way) my life I am now an eternal Alice fan and Nick and Charlie is my favourite book (but all of their story is my favourite/they’re my comfort characters). It’s really lovely to be here and and be in queer community, especially as I let my queerness be erased for so long.

2023-09-23 16:35:19 +0000 UTCHi! I'm Morgan. I'm 31, currently living in rural Louisiana (USA). I'm married with 4 children, and my husband is active duty in the army. I've been looking around for an online community recently because where we live is so backward to everything I stand for, and I've been feeling very isolated. Thankfully, my husband is very supportive but being cishet, he can't relate in a lot of ways. My favorite LGBT novel is Red, White, and Royal Blue. Additionally, my work will have me traveling more soon (Florida next week and London in December), and would love to develop friendships with people all over to visit when I travel.

I'd say my favourite LGBTQ+ novel is probably Red, White, and Royal Blue, only because it was the first one I'd ever read and Alex's bisexual journey was very eye-opening lol! But I've just begun reading 'She Gets the Girl' and I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far! <3

After a pretty serious car accident, I was forced to retire and now spend most of my days reading or campaigning for Scottish independence. My favorite LGBT Novel is probably Christopher Isherwood's A Single Man, I also loved reading Call Me by Your Name and Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, which has, I'm told, been adapted into a film, I look forward to watching it.

2023-09-03 18:58:34 +0000 UTCHello everyone, I’m very excited to be here! My name is Doug, and I'm 59 years old. I have lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US, with my best friend and husband for 30 years. My occupation is in IT management in academic environments. Picking a favorite LGBTQ+ book is challenging. I am enjoying Alice Osman’s books, particularly Heartstopper (of course) and Loveless. This has opened up the world of YA novels. I have found them a fascinating exploration of the diversity of experience from the perspective of young people and an opportunity to reflect on my experience of trauma in my teenage years and coming out in my mid-twenties. Let’s say Charlie and I have lots in common.

2023-08-29 19:02:56 +0000 UTCThat'd be brilliant, JRL. There are so few representations of the intersex community, and this book (although heavy) provides a thoughtful and careful depiction. I work from home full time as the director of global client quality and compliance for a logistics company, and yes, it really is as glamorous as it sounds. :) Even though my country of residence is the USA, I'm a New Yorker through and through and try to give the feds as little of my attention as I possibly can. I know what my values and character are, and I am keenly aware of how those can differ from those of many people in other parts of this country, so I focus on associating with and connecting those who see the world the way I do. I don't read as many novels as I'd like these days, but my top choice for LGBT+ novel would probably be Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. If you haven't checked it out, it's most definitely worth a look. I'm very much looking forward to getting to know you all!

2023-08-14 07:17:14 +0000 UTCNew Patreon member here but have been watching many of your videos since last year. My name Ron (or Ronnie). I'm from the LA area in California. Work in IT for a bank and am probably one of your oldest members at 61 LOL! But young at heart for sure. Heartstopper brought me here. This show is so heartwarming, funny, sad, hopeful and melancholy. I just can't get enough of it. Things were very different when I was in high school so I think that's where the melancholy feelings come into play for me. Things are so much better now for LGBTQ+ kids these days but on the other hand so much hasn't changed which is sad. Not sure how it is in the UK but there are forces here in the states that are really pushing back against progress and equal opportunities. Hope we can turn this around. But on a more happy note-glad to be here and really enjoy your videos! Be well everyone.

My abolute favorite I think is Heartstopper though it's more a Graphic Novel. I really loved reading 'The Extraordinaries' by TJ Klune and also very much enjoyed 'What if it's Us?' by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli. Just got my Heartstopper collection and can’t wait to dive into it.

2023-08-07 03:42:27 +0000 UTCHi my name is Jess, I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I'm 39 and a public servant. Favourite LGBTQIA+ books has to be Loveless and Radio Silence. I'm ace, so makes sense, I guess lol. But love so many books that show healthy queer love.

2023-08-06 10:13:40 +0000 UTCRadio Silence is my favourite of Alice's novels. I couldn't put it down. I am currently making my way through Loveless and its... well... ♥️

2023-07-26 09:31:59 +0000 UTCHi everyone, I'm Nicky, 29, from Switzerland, I work in marketing for an event location and currently doing my masters degree. I must admit I am not big on reading but they are a few books I recently read, where I couldn't put them away, and yes they are lgbtqia+. and all from the Osmanverse ... especialy Radio Silence and Loveless, because that is how I realised that I am on the ace spectrum 🖤🤍💜 But I have been reading through the comments and fav. lgbt books and there are so many I want to read, so def. gone check them out!!

2023-07-25 22:16:42 +0000 UTCWelcome fellow SF resident. Sad to hear you're thinking of leaving, but a new home base to continue your world travels sounds like a good plan. Also love the Jay Bell series. I think I have one or two left to read.

2023-07-15 19:02:47 +0000 UTCGreetings. Call me Mark. I recently turned 61. Feels very weird to say but I've vowed not to complain or pretend otherwise since so many of my contemporaries didn't make it out of their 20s. I've spent my career working in advertising, initially a copywriter then creative director. I also taught writing and creative development at a university for a number of years. Now I freelance and am contemplating how long I'll maintain the facade of working. Live in the USA, Manhattan for a decade right after college where I met my husband—together 35 years and counting. We've been in San Francisco since 1995 but are considering selling our house and moving somewhere to live mortgage free. Travel is also a big passion. We've managed to set foot on five continents, just South America and Antartica remain. I've read and loved most of the LGBT novels previously mentioned but my favorite has to be the Something Like series by Jay Bell. I defy anyone to read them without a box of tissues at hand.

2023-07-14 21:09:14 +0000 UTCWelcome, Selena!! Sorry to hear your upbringing was kind of homophobic in Germany. I loved Solitaire... I need to re-read it. Tori is my birthday twin so I adore her. I need to add Gender Euphoria to my list, I think!
Jackie-Ross Lavender
2023-07-11 14:48:16 +0000 UTCHi, I am Selena and I am 23. Unfortunately, I grew up in Germany which is rather homophobic, at least in my area... I am in university studying English and History. Since I am a book nerd I might rant way too much about my favourite novels, apologies for that. I have three favourite books, 2 novels and a non-fiction book. My favourite novel is definitely Solitaire, since I am a lot like Tori (and Charlie). I am Ace, possibly Aroace, and we never really get representation having a book like Solitaire means a lot. Especially, because Solitaire described rather well what the Ace experience was like as a teenager. Also, growing up I was constantly overlooked so this book made me feel seen. This Winter, has to be my favourite novella, because Charlie's experiences while he is 15 are eerily similar to my own experiences. This Winter and Solitaire have a rather high amount of relatable quotes. My favourite non-fiction book is Gender Euphoria, it gives a really good insight into anything gender related. There are so many essays from people who are Trans, Non-Binary or Intersex.

2023-06-15 20:58:44 +0000 UTCHi I'm Ryan. I'm 37 and have just left the ambulance service after 17 years and a national honour to work in e-commerce logistics. I'm from the South Australian capital of Adelaide in the Commonwealth of Australia. I haven't read many LGBTQ+ novels, unless you count the Heartstopper graphic novels, which I thoroughly enjoyed. When I was young I did read Holding The Man by Timothy Conigrave which was the only book to have ever made me cry.

2023-06-06 09:14:47 +0000 UTCWelcome to the team, Cindy! ♥️🌈 have you read all the Alice’s books? If not i lightly recommend the heartstopper novellas “this winter” and “nick and charlie” as well as my favourite of her novels which is “Radio Silence”

2023-06-05 03:35:56 +0000 UTCTyler, 43, Software developer, USA. I haven't really read any LGBT books, but I did enjoy Alan Turing's biography (well, other than the depressing ending o_O). As far as media, goes, it's pretty run of the mill: SKAM, Young Royals, Love Victor, etc.. I also tend to watch a lot of storyline YouTube, where people just string together clips of LGBT storylines from shows. Oh, and I avoid anything sad or true to life... I've got plenty of that IRL, so I don't really get much out of having it in my entertainment too ;-)

2023-05-09 17:38:52 +0000 UTCHi everyone! Just joined and was pleasantly surprised by the awesome mix of people. I'm Maya, 37 from Sweden. Live and work in Stockholm as a social worker. My favourite lgbt-media have already been mentioned, Song of Achilles, and Call me by your name. But also love A little life, even though it tears your heart out. I'm so excited to dive in to all the extended YR-material and to hear everyone's thoughts.

2023-05-06 18:00:40 +0000 UTCThank you so much for your kind words Mari <3 I love that YR have reached and touched so many people from different places, I don't think that has ever happened before to a series or movie from our little corner of the world :) It's really cool that you are learning swedish! Good luck with that and I hope you get to travel here really soon!

2023-04-28 21:23:23 +0000 UTChey anna! I know this is months later but your comment really resonated with me so I wanted to reply :) I love CMBYN (have only watched the movie but want to read the book!) and absolutely adore the film "And Then We Danced"! It has to be at least a year ago that I watched it but I still think of it at times. It was so artistically portrayed and the setting felt so nostalgic to me (I'm Armenian but live in the US). Anyways, it was an incredible film that's rarely talked about and left such an impact, so I really like that you mentioned it. And I had no idea its a Swedish production! Honestly adds up because I adore anything from Sweden thanks to young royals haha. Currently learning Swedish and am set on coming to Sweden one day!! I love you all there <3 Hope you achieve your dream of opening a cafe-bookstore! I know you would get so many customers since its a dream a lot of us have and such a neat idea! Anyways though, sorry for such a long reply lol. I hope you have an amazing day! <3

Isak and Even from SKAM also have a special place in my heart. 🧡 I love being creative and make artsy picture edits and fan videos and put them up on my insta and youtube channel.

2023-01-21 12:22:08 +0000 UTCI actually saw this film sometime last year, I think, but I might watch it again now that you have reminded me about it. I thought it was really good.

2023-01-19 15:59:45 +0000 UTCYeah, I’m sure that will be a fun watch! Again, my go to movie these days is And Then We Danced. Alot darker I suppose, but its the most inspiring thing 🫠 The cinematography is insane.. You should check it out: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8963708/

2023-01-18 00:27:59 +0000 UTCHope the film does justice to Red, White and Royal Blue. The guy who plays Henry was in a movie called Purple Hearts recently and his performance was really the best aspect of an otherwise pretty average movie.

2023-01-17 22:59:40 +0000 UTCwhole heartedly agree that The Song Of Achilles is not only the best book I read last year but in my top 3 all time favourites.

2023-01-17 22:33:12 +0000 UTCHi, annanas. I would recommend The Song of Achilles, if you haven’t already read it. It’s probably the best book I’ve read in the last year. I also really enjoyed Red, White and Royal Blue. That’s currently being turned into a movie, as you might already know and will be on Amazon Prime once it’s released.
Graham & Ruth May
2023-01-17 22:15:07 +0000 UTCCan’t help hoping for a similar outcome in Young Royals, Douglas🤞 I really enjoyed reading Red,White and Royal Blue and I am looking forward to the movie. The guy who plays Henry was in a so-so movie called Purple Hearts recently and his performance was about the best thing in it. He’s rather good looking, too. Not sure if filming is actually finished yet.

2023-01-17 14:50:25 +0000 UTCHey everyone! My name is Anna and I live in Stockholm, Sweden. I found my way here because I've made it my job to watch all YR reactions, but I also have another job in finance. Although my dream is to own a bookstore or a café, or preferably a bookstore-café 😌 My favorite novel is Call me by your name, but at the moment I don't have the time to read a lot as I have a pretty small kid. I do have another recommendation though, a movie called And Then We Danced. It's a Swedish production but it takes place in Georgia. If you haven't seen it, don't waste another second!

2022-12-05 20:07:04 +0000 UTCHi Tony! I just recently discovered Jackie and joined this community. I am happy to see a fellow Minnesotan here! I hadn't considered the correlation between the Scandinavian heritage and traditions of our state's culture and identity and how that might relate to my love of Young Royals. Hah! According to Wikipedia (which is NEVER inaccurate (LOL), Minnesota has the highest percentage of Scandinavian populations in the U.S., with over 1.6 million. Uffda. I can be included in that number, with a large percentage of Norwegian ancestry. Anywho, nice to meet you and congrats on finishing your Master's degree!

2022-11-04 23:10:42 +0000 UTCJust put in a mega order, based on book recommendations on Patreon, including Aristotle and Dante, as well as What If It’s Us and Here’s To Us, the sequel. If you’re looking for a different vibe and enjoy crime fiction, I recommend Donna Leon’s novels, set in Venice where she has lived for many years and featuring probably the most interesting and charming central character, a police commissario as well as his wife, teenage son and daughter. Latest one in the long series featuring him is due out soon, but they’re all excellent and can be read as stand alone novels.
Graham & Ruth May
2022-10-31 16:54:44 +0000 UTCTony -- thanks for the recommendation on Aristotle and Dante. I really liked the first book. Yes, tears were flowing several times. I'm going to start the sequel right away. A couple of authors you might check out: Jay Bell (Something like series) Riley Hart (Crossroads series) Mark A. Roeder (start with "The Soccer Field is Empty" -- super sad, but it's the setup for the next few novels that sort of cushion the sadness). His later ones get little too into the super natural for me.

2022-10-17 23:24:50 +0000 UTCHi! I'm Tony. I'm 26 and from America, specifically Minnesota, one of the more Scandinavian parts of America so Young Royals feels appropriate lol. Right now I'm just about to finish up my Masters in Mechanical Engineering, and I'm working part time as a math/physics tutor while I finish that up. And I think my favorite LGBT novel is probably If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales and Cale Dietrich. It was recommended by Thom is Trans on YouTube and I wasn't expecting much from it, it's about a boy band, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! Edit: well um not even 24 hours later and I already have to amend my answer to the last question. Last night and today I read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz and wow. That book blew me away. I was crying multiple times. It's got a ton of accolades and awards, and I can tell you that it for sure deserves every one of them

My technical real name is Jia-lin (pronounced like jya-leen). Age: 51 (but my mental age is like in my 20's). Age is just a number. What matters is how you feel on the inside. Occupation: Customer Tech Support. I love computers. I love tech stuff. Total geek and techie. Country of Residence: USA - California (South). Lived here for the majority of my life; though, I was not born here (born in Taipei, Taiwan). But California has always been the home for me. Favourite LGBT novel: Maurice by E.M. Forster. I love E.M. Forster's works and fiction and when I found out he wrote this beautiful (and so fucking romantic) prose literature of gay love, I had to read this. It's sad that the novel was only published posthumously, but I wish he would've had a chance to write more. I couldn't choose between "Maurice" or "Brideshead Revisited" by Evelyn Waugh, who wrote a great gay romance novel; though, on the surface, it reads more like a bromance novel, but the characters are gay but don't outright explicitly announce their orientation.

2022-10-02 08:10:56 +0000 UTCI just re-read my post and am amazed that I left out something of such great importance: my husband. We met when I was a 19-yo undergrad at UCLA and he was the 42-yo professor of my most important class. That sounds like an Evil Professor and Innocent Student Exploited situation, but this "exploitation" lasted 40 years. We had an amazing life together. Oh the places we went, the things we did, and how much I LEARNED from him. We were together for precisely 40 years and five days. From our first date on January 24, 1976 to January 29, 2016, the night he died as I held his hand. I miss him every day.

2022-10-01 22:13:44 +0000 UTCHey Jackie-Ross. I'm Dennis, I'm 79 not too long till I will be 80. I'm an electronics tech and I live in Michigan, US. I became aware of your YouTube channel when you reviewed the Call Me By Your Name book and then the film. Which, by the way, is my favorite LGBT book. Incidentally, since you are about to watch Young Royals, in my opinion the acting of the two principals in YR is a cut or three above that in CMBYN (as much as I like Timothée Chalamet). It should be a treat watching you being blown away by Young Royals. If you are willing, watch it in the original Swedish with sub-titles. Better that way.

Yep, that makes me 66, although on a good day I still feel about 34-that was a great year… Our daughter is 25 and still lives in the south east with her partner. 2022-08-03 21:18:03 +0000 UTCSomeone mentioned this post so I searched for it. I'm Lein (or Marjolein), from Haarlem, the Netherlands and I'm 41. I've been an email marketing specialist for about 8 years now. My fave LGBT novel atm is Red, White & Royal Blue. Only just finished it last week (late to the party) and can't wait to see what they're going to do with the movie. Also read Boyfriend Material this year and loved it. The sequal (Husband Material) just came out and it's downloaded on my e-reader ready to read tomorrow in the train to London 🎉😁

2022-08-02 12:27:26 +0000 UTCHello, all! Grace here. I’m 54, currently working as a caregiver and living in Louisville, KY. I’m Anglo-American. British on my father’s side. Almost painfully so. Lol. Hope to return to the UK within the next few years. As much as I love and adore the world that Alice Oseman has created, my favourite LGBT novel is still E. M. Forster’s “Maurice.” Love the book, love the film. Even love the unpublished epilogue. That’s me sorted. Cheers to all of the lovely and interesting souls who have come together here. Many thanks for the exciting new reading list. Hoping you are all well and safe in your corners of the world. XOXOX

2022-07-21 03:32:15 +0000 UTCIt’s amazing, one of the best books I’ve read to be honest, I’ve heard they are going to make what if it’s us into a movie 🥰. You should look into reading red white and blue that is good too, I’m currently in the middle of it, and they also are making that into a movie 💙

2022-06-28 07:45:27 +0000 UTCHi everyone, I'm Angela, 45 yrs young from the USA. I've lived in Maryland and Wisconsin in the U.S., Austria for 6 mos, South Korea for 4 yrs, and currently live near Dallas, Texas. I had a fulfilling career as a public children's librarian, before flying half way across the world to teach English to elementary school children in rural South Korea. I'm currently semi-retired, and working on catching up on all the books I've wanted to read but was too busy to do so. My dream is to build a literacy platform where I build bridges between populations, highlight unique voices, and increase multicultural awareness through literature for all ages. I have an entire stack of queer books to read, but sadly I have only gotten through a few so far...Song of Achilles, The House in the Cerulean Sea, Nick and Charlie, This Winter, and Heartstopper series (which I enjoyed in that order, the last being my favorite!) I actually don't watch must television (unless it's based on a novel), and initially watched Heartstopper because it was based on a graphic novel, was LGBTQ+. and had such glowing reviews. And now it is in my top 5 TV shows of all time :)

2022-06-27 20:52:51 +0000 UTCHey, I meant to post on this last week but got distracted with work and never made it back until now. I’m Laurie, 35 and I’m from the US in Ohio. I am a Senior Account Manager for a patient education company for work but act in local community theater for fun/creative outlet. I love to read but to be honest never really paid attention to if a book was considered lgtb or not. I love love ❤️ Recently though I have absolutely devoured all of Alice Oseman’s books.

2022-06-26 05:22:02 +0000 UTCI have absolutely LOVED reading through all of these posts! We’re quite an eclectic bunch. I’ve loved seeing us grow the past couple of weeks and I can’t wait to see us grow further. If anything i’m just chuffed to have plenty of new novel recommendations to add to my amazon cart!!

2022-06-22 13:41:46 +0000 UTCHello! I’m Diana and I’m 36 years old. I was born in Guinea-Bissau (West Africa) but spent my childhood and teenage years in Amarante, Portugal, where I was raised. I am currently based in London where I live and work as a Legal Researcher/Advisor. Heartstopper has opened the gates of LGBTQ+ series/books universe for me (and I am so glad for that) so I am still quite unaware of other titles and/or authors but I’ve been checking some of the responses here and found some interesting titles to check out - thank you!

2022-06-21 17:17:12 +0000 UTCI'm Audrey Gunn, i'm 47and i live way up in the Scottish Highlands, born and bred a country girl!! I work as a PSA in a school for special needs children, have been there for 27 years and absolutely love it, its such a rewarding job. I am ashamed to say that i haven't really read many LGBTQ+ novels so i can't say i have a favourite but one of my HS friends told me about another YA book called Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, which is also being turned into a series for Amazon Prime. It is good. I have some good list now though to start on after reading all your comments!!

2022-06-21 16:45:23 +0000 UTCI’m Lane, and apparently I’m the oldest here so far at 65 (soon to be 66). I live in the US in Nashville, Tennessee, and I consider acting my career, though most of my income is from commercial real estate that my family owns. Most of my acting has been theatre, with the occasional music video, industrial film, or commercial thrown in. I’ve read so many LGBTQ+ novels in my life that picking a favorite is tough, but Armistead Maupin’s “Tales of the City” series is pretty far up there.

2022-06-21 15:28:22 +0000 UTCI’m a self employed accountant. Not as dull as it sounds..honestly. Favourite LGBT novels would be most of T J Klune’s output, but I recently enjoyed a detective series by Dal MacLean. Quite dark, but also funny as well.

2022-06-21 14:01:51 +0000 UTCHello, I’m Andrew. I’m 57 and live in South London with my partner of 25 years, Tim.

2022-06-21 13:58:48 +0000 UTCHello! I’m Michelle; I’m 44 and live in Colorado, USA. I am a GIS Analyst (I do geospatial analysis). My favorite lgbtq+ novel (so far) is Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, by Benjamin Alire Saenz (the sequel book is good too). Or, Carry Me Like Water (one of my favorite novels of all time), which was also written by Saenz. It is not primarily an lgbt book though it has a couple characters that identify as such.

2022-06-21 13:43:51 +0000 UTCHi all, I’m Charleen, but you can also call me Charlie. I’m 40 and a freelance book editor, also from NJ, though I’ve also lived in NYC and overseas. Being an editor, you can imagine I am a huge book nerd (hence the username), and I have giant stacks of books all over my house. But shhhh, it’s not hoarding if it’s books 😂 I also love tv, movies, food stuffs, and basically all things pop culture. It’s very difficult for me to choose just one favorite book, because I’m emotionally attached to so many. But one of the best LGBTQ+ books I’ve read recently is The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer. It’s a unique blend of sci-fi, epic space fantasy, and romance and it just really surprised me in all the best ways. If you like any (or all) of those genres, I would suggest checking it out.

2022-06-21 13:16:01 +0000 UTCCheck out House in the Cerulean Sea. Super sweet soulmate romance that it seems not many folks have heard of

2022-06-21 13:11:09 +0000 UTCHi everyone I'm Michael. I'm 30 and currently living in Montreal, Canada. I work in the visual effects/animation field and due to that I've left the states to live where the jobs are. I love all things tv and movies (unless they are in the horror genre... No thank you) so Heartstopper was right up my alley. I listen/read to my fair share of novels. Queer and otherwise. My favorite queer book has to be the Russell Middlebrooke series by Brent Hartinger. The first in the 4 book series is Geography Club. I'm a sucker for soulmated romance stories ☺️
