As you may know from seeing it in the polls, creating a crab box has been on my mind for a while now. But why just do a regular crab box when I can make a cyber crab.😉

I loaded this mechanical crustacean with tons of detail inside and out, and gave extra joints to make him super flexi.

With the lid being separate you can easily mix and match colors. To attach it, simply set it in place and press the back down firmly. It will lock into place and not come off. I also designed a very satisfying click open and closed function to help the lid stay shut.

Can I just say that my wife did a stellar job on the painting of this new one. Went a different direction with the stain and it looks just like a crab spaceship! Here is what she did:

- 125% STL print in Overture Matte Light Brown
- Stained with  Varathane Premium Midnight Blue (from Home Depot)
- Remove highlighted/raised areas with 90% alcohol
- Paint details with Vallejo Model Paint Metallics
- Seal with Clear Polyurethane Spray

Print tips and Info:

• STL and 3MF files are included. * If you use the 3mf file, please remember that it is a painted project file for your convenience. You must check your material/printer/settings to make sure it works correctly for your printing project.

• I print with 3 walls, 15% infill/gyroid, .12 or .16 layer height for quality.

• As usual. make sure you have good adhesion. I always use a glue stick

• Gradient PLA works well with this model: I have a comprehensive list of Filament I use here: Amazon List

• 4th photo 3MF at 85%: Printed in TTYTD3D Fast Change Rainbow, and your favorite black!
