Added 2023-09-24 08:30:59 +0000 UTCone of my favorite alien stories by an old master. the miniseries had some good parts too. the idea of the horned satan being almost a genetic/psychic memory of a traumatic moment in human history that echoes down through all descendants is interesting and aligns with some of my ideas.

I love Clarke's exploration stories but Childhood's End is special just in how it taps into something completely different. Transcendence shown as not just a step forward but beyond, completely alien to what we can imagine. Damn good book.
